Assiut University organizes the activities of the second Community Environmental day of the Faculty of Medicine entitled "blood-borne viruses: medical and community outlook"

Under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University; the Faculty of medicine for community service and Environmental Development Affairs organized the activities of the second Community Environmental day of the Faculty of Medicine entitled "blood-borne viruses: medical and community outlook"; under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president of the University for community service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Alaa Attiyah, dean of the Faculty of Medicine and chairman of the board of University Hospitals, and Dr. Huda Makhlouf, vice dean of the Faculty of medicine for community service and Environmental Development Affairs.

  The event was attended by Dr. Mohammed Zain, undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Assiut, Dr. Asma Mohammed Abdul Aziz, director of the infection control department at the University Hospitals, and Dr. Heidi karamallah, assistant professor at the Department of Tropical Medicine and gastroenterology, and a rapporteur today, with the participation of the faculty's vice deans, faculty members, the auxiliary staff, employees, young researchers, and a crowd of students of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and nursing.

  Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed the importance of the theme of the community environmental day to raise awareness of the risks of blood-borne viruses, in light of Assiut University's support for the quality of services provided within its University Hospitals; and in order to activate the inherent role of the Faculty of Medicine in providing medical knowledge and developing services provided to patients, and serving the surrounding community, and in light of the importance of prevention, early detection and treatment of blood-borne diseases.

   For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim praised the efforts of the Faculty of Medicine in raising awareness, and the activities it provides; and for a healthy healthy life, pointing out the importance of strengthening preventive behaviors, which play a crucial role in preventing blood-borne viruses, which contributes to reducing the spread of infection and enhancing public health; to bring a fit person to the life market; wishing them a distinguished scientific day.

Dr. Mohammed Zain pointed to the scientific and research role of Assiut University in the methods of examination, treatment and Prevention; and to come up with everything new in the medical field, awareness and education to protect people and preserve their health; stressing that the spread of these viruses puts a great burden on health care systems, and requires intensive efforts in awareness, prevention and treatment of the infected.

Dr. Hoda Makhlouf explained that the Community Environmental Day aims to raise awareness of the risks of blood-borne viruses and ways to prevent them, within the framework of promoting public health and spreading awareness in the community, the importance of adhering to preventive measures, and practicing healthy behaviors; pointing out the importance of this day in education, and building a conscious society more capable of facing health challenges, through the role of students in communicating health messages to the community in an effective way; wishing that the Environmental Day would be fruitful, from the scientific and societal point of view.

Dr. Heidi karamallah stated that the Community Environmental Day includes many scientific lectures on: hepatitis B and C viruses - past and present by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Sabour; HIV acquired immunodeficiency virus ( aids) in Egypt - modification of concepts by Dr. Heidi karamallah; rights and duties with regard to blood-borne diseases by Dr. Heba Atiyah; the role of infection control against blood-borne diseases by Dr. Ihab Abdel Rady Thabet, and HIV between right and wrong: an interactive session for doctors of excellence human/ dental.
