Dr. El-Minshawy congratulates Assiut University Students for winning the first places at the southern universities Games Festival in its sixth edition

Assiut University students achieved an outstanding sporting achievement during their participation in the sixth edition of the southern universities Games Festival, which was held in Luxor under the slogan "youth of the Universities of the New Republic".

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, expressed his happiness with the University winning the first place in volleyball competitions for students, the first place in volleyball for female students, in addition to achieving the second place in Table Tennis for female students. He praised the honorable and outstanding performance provided by the students during the competitions, which reflects the strength of training and sports preparation that the university is keen to provide to its students.

Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that these achievements come within the framework of the University's support for sports activities and encouraging students to excel in various fields, expressing his pride in the performance of the participating teams and their ability to compete strongly against other universities.

The festival was organized by the Ministry of youth and sports in cooperation with the Ministry of higher education, and was held in the youth City of Luxor during the period from February 15 to 18, with the participation of 9 universities, namely: (Assiut, Sphinx, Minya, Sohag, South Valley, Aswan, New Valley, Luxor, and higher education), where students competed in a number of sports, including: volleyball, basketball, table tennis, and football pentathlon.

For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla pointed out that the University participated with 27 students in the southern universities Games Festival, stressing the keenness of the university administration to support outstanding students in student activities, and its constant endeavor to provide an appropriate environment for practicing various activities.

The participation of the University came under the supervision of: Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Madiha Darwish, general supervisor of student activities at the University, Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Administration of student welfare at the University, Mr. Ihab Ramadan, director of the sports activity department at the General Administration of Student Welfare, Mr. Jamal Hassan Rajab, and Ms. Rania Abdo El Sayed, executive supervision.
