Dr. El-Minshawy: honorable representation of Assiut University in the Academy of scientific research and technology
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, announced the selection of six faculty members from the faculties of engineering, medicine, pharmacy, and science at the university, within the new formation of specialized qualitative councils at the Academy of scientific research and technology for the period 2025-2028, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of higher education and scientific research, headed by Dr. Mohammed Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research.
This success is considered a pride and enhancement of the status of Assiut University, and the culmination of the scientific efforts exerted by the University's students in serving their community, and transferring the outputs of scientific research to the ground, under the supervision of Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research.
Dr. El-Minshawy congratulated the faculty members who were selected for membership in the qualitative councils of the Academy, appreciating their success in reaching this prestigious scientific position through a competitive process, and in light of the governing regulations and controls. He explained that the qualitative councils sector of the academy includes 20 qualitative councils, covering various fields of Science, Technology and innovation, and each council consists of 15 members with experience and public figures, who were selected according to their achievements and ability to give.
The president of Assiut University stressed that the University abounds in a constellation of researchers who have succeeded in representing it honorably in various scientific forums, pointing out that these achievements reflect the University's tireless efforts to motivate its students and researchers to continuous scientific and research progress, which contributes to the advancement of the University at various levels.
The president also praised the role of the quality councils in supporting the links between scientific and technological research institutions, production and services entities, and directing them towards serving all development issues according to scientific bases, in order to achieve national visions and goals, in line with the Sustainable Development Strategy and Egypt's Vision 2030.
The new composition of the specialized qualitative councils at the Academy included three professors from the Faculty of engineering, namely: Dr. Mazen Mohammed Shafiq Abdus Salam, full-time professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, rapporteur of the electricity and Energy Research Council, Dr. Ahmed Hamza Hosseini Ali, Full-time professor at the Department of mechanical power engineering, a member of the electricity and Energy Research Council, and Dr. Shehata Al-Dabaa Abdel Rahim, professor at the Department of civil engineering, a member of the housing and Construction Research Council.
The new formation also included: Dr. Ihab said Ibrahim Al-Desouki, professor at the Department of medical pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine, a member of the Drug Research Council, Dr. Tariq Abu al-Fadl Mohammed, professor at the Department of pharmaceutical and medical chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, a member of the Drug Research Council, and Dr. Hany Nasser Abdul Hakim Abdul Hamid, assistant professor at the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, a member of the Basic Sciences Research Council.
