-    Prof. El-Minshawy: Significant progress has been made in international scientific publishing, and researchers are fully supported.
-     Funding (21) research projects within the internal funding program for research and development projects and business incubators.

-    Expansion of research partnerships with various universities globally in many disciplines.

-    A major research project on renewable energy and sustainability in Egypt has been launched in collaboration with Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK.

-      Prof. El-Minshawy explained: The year 2024 witnessed double attention by the university administration to serve the research sectors, funding many research projects for faculty members and researchers, and supporting distinguished researchers, which resulted in many of them obtaining scientific awards and advanced centers from international scientific authorities, in addition to the university's interest in achieving scientific research standards and ethics during their research, in addition to holding many seminars and specialized workshops in various fields, which targeted researchers from the university from all colleges and institutes.

-      An important project in the field of renewable energy and sustainability in Egypt (E_RISE), funded by the British Council, was launched in cooperation with Cardiff Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom, with the participation of Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom and Cairo University, within the framework of strengthening the research and innovation environment and international research cooperation, and the project aimed to enhance the capabilities of the research environment and develop the level of long-term research cooperation between Egypt and the United Kingdom in the field of renewable energy and sustainability.

-    In 2024, Assiut University strengthened research partnerships with various universities around the world, exchanging information and experiences with them, and opening up to different cultures, as the university received Prof. Niels Frederick, a geological and archaeological expert at Roskilde University in Denmark, within the joint geological research project between Assiut University and Roskilde University to study the Egyptian oases region and identify its geological and agricultural characteristics; to provide valuable results and insights into the geological history and environmental conditions of this region.

-    The report indicated that Assiut University succeeded in building scientific and research relations with the State of Japan by launching the Egyptian-Japanese Cultural and Scientific Forum, in the presence of the Ambassador of the State of Japan and with the participation of the Japan Foundation in Cairo, which included signing joint cooperation protocols between the university and the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, the General Authority for Meteorology and the National Center for Water Research to achieve scientific and technical cooperation between the university and these entities, holding a series of lectures to introduce Japanese grants, and holding a cultural exhibition.

-    The report indicated that the year 2024 showed a clear distinction for the university's distinguished researchers in various fields, who succeeded in representing the university honorably in various forums and won numerous awards from major institutions and scientific bodies at the international and global levels, thanks to their scientific contributions. The year 2024 witnessed the announcement that Dr. Hani Nasser, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Science, won the ALECSO Award for Creativity and Innovation for Young Researchers in the Arab World, at its sixth session, at the University of Sharjah, for the year 2024, sharing the first category, in a research entitled: “Zeolitic imidazolate hydrogen titanate nanotube framework for efficient adsorption and catalytic oxidation of organic dyes and microplastics.”.

-    The year 2024 also saw researcher Asmaa Ali Mohamed of the Department of Genetics, Faculty of Agriculture, win the Dr. Ebada International Award in the category of distinguished researcher for the year 2023, in the field of agricultural sciences.

-    In continuation of this great excellence of Assiut University researchers, Dr. Sadek Fathy, a lecturer at the Department of History, Faculty of Arts, won the Prof. Dr. Mohamed Naaman Galal Award, presented by the Egyptian Society for Historical Studies, for his doctoral thesis entitled: “The United Nations Attitude towards the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Process (1974-1979 AD).”

-    Affirming Assiut University's leadership as a research institution that supports researchers to continue their scientific creativity, the university announced in the second half of 2024: Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Khallaf, Lecturer at the Department of Zoology and Entomology, Faculty of Science, participated in a team of researchers at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in Berlin, Germany, who managed to discover a new sensory receptor called “ELKIN1”, which plays a crucial role in the natural sense of touch in both humans and mice, and the research that included this scientific discovery was published in the journal Science in February 2024, one of the most prestigious international journals in the field of science.

-    All these achievements and many others reflect the brilliance of the university's researchers and highlight its efforts to motivate them to produce innovative research projects in various fields of science, and its relentless endeavor to open effective communication channels with various regional and international research institutions, and achieve a good research reputation to enhance its presence in local and international research platforms and journals, and achieve higher education quality standards and indicators.

-    During 2024, Assiut University expanded its financial and intellectual support for distinguished research projects and provided realistic and innovative solutions to the issues and needs of society, as well as those that are consistent with the university's research plan and the state plan for sustainable development (Egypt Vision 2030), by announcing the funding of (21) research projects for faculty members and researchers at the university, worth (3 million) pounds, within the internal funding program for research projects, development projects, and research business incubators, provided by the Research Projects Management Office at the university.

-    The report included the interest of the university faculties in holding many scientific conferences and meetings for their young researchers to present all that is new in the fields of specialization, including; the Faculty of Nursing organized its second scientific conference for young researchers under the title “Benefiting from artificial intelligence in the health field”, which included discussing all that has been developed in all fields of nursing sciences, the most important practical challenges and proposed solutions, and the Faculty of Science organized - in cooperation with Badr University - the eighth scientific conference for young researchers in basic and applied sciences, entitled “Updates in sustainable development”, which aimed to discuss the latest contributions of discussing the latest of scientific research in achieving sustainable development, in addition to providing opportunities to support young researchers by building bridges of cooperation with various industrial entities and institutions. The Faculty of Quality Education also organized the first student forum for postgraduate studies and research, which included the presentation of (17) scientific research (theoretical and practical) for faculty researchers in the disciplines of home economics, art education, and music education.
-    Assiut University and its Central Committee for Scientific Research Ethics, based on its ambitious vision to achieve the standards of scientific and research integrity and honesty, which is in line with the general direction of the Egyptian state, the policy of the Ministry of Higher Education, and the Supreme Council of Universities to support policies to achieve scientific research integrity.
