Assiut University witness the launch of an awareness-raising symposium on the role of the National Communications Regulatory Authority in promoting awareness and cybersecurity in cooperation with the National Communications Regulatory Authority (NCRA) - Dr. El- Minshawy: An important role for the Assiut in spreading cyberculture among its students - the representative of the National Communications Regulatory Authority (NCRA) confirms continued cooperation to strengthen technical capacities to meet future challenges in cyber security. On Monday, February 24, the University of Assiut saw the launch of an awareness-raising symposium entitled: The role of the National Communications Regulatory Authority in promoting awareness and cyber security, organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmad El- Minshawy, President of the University, and under the supervision and presence of Dr. Ahmad Abdul Mawla, Vice-President of the University for Education and Student Affairs. During the symposium, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, head of the First Community Interaction of the National Communications Regulatory Authority, was present in the presence of General Mohammed Sjalabi, head of the Executive Directorate of Government Relations of the Authority, with the participation of a number  engineers of the National Communications Regulatory Authority, Assiut Branch, and college students. 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, emphasized the vital role of the National Communications Regulatory Authority in promoting awareness and cybersecurity, commending the fruitful cooperation between the NSA and the University in this area. Such cooperation was contributing significantly to raise the digital knowledge of students, faculty and university staff, thereby strengthening their ability to meet the growing cyber challenges. Dr. Ahmad Abdul Mawla explained that the University Administration pays great attention to organizing awareness activities, which contribute to build students' cultural and intellectual awareness about some negative phenomena, including Internet risk, the need to pay attention to information security, access to best degrees of cybersecurity, monitoring and ways to address them. The Colloquium and other awareness-raising symposiums reflected the University's interest in implementing the Egyptian State vision to build awareness of youth about the risks surrounding them. During his lecture, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, head of Sector I, the First Community Interaction of the National Communications Regulatory Authority, addressed: The role of the National Communications Regulatory Authority and its initiatives, spoke of the objectives and role of the National Communications Regulatory Authority in providing communications services efficiently and effectively throughout the Republic, the development of plans, regulations and rules for managing the communications market, the regulation of the relationship between the stakeholders in the sector (service operators and users), and the establishment of quality standards of service to be available to the Egyptian user. The Lecture also addressed the initiatives of the National Communications Regulatory Authority in promoting digital financial services for decent users, enabling them to access financial services easily and safely, and providing a Cool Center customer service in sign language to the deaf and hearing impaired Cool video-tech. The Lecture also included educating students about cybersecurity as one of the most prominent threats in the Internet world, directing them to the importance of information protection, physical safety and maintaining data privacy, in order to achieve comprehensive digital safety. The National Communications Regulatory Authority (NCRA) representative commended the role of Assiut University in spreading cyberculture among its students, stressing continued cooperation to support efforts in this context and strengthen technical capacities to meet future challenges in cybersecurity.
