Assiut University witnesses the meeting of the Council of the household pest control unit after the new formation to follow up the action plan

Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the household pest control unit held its meeting after the new formation to follow up its work plan, in the presence of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president of the University for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim, professor at the plant protection department at the Faculty of Agriculture, the head of the unit, and members of the unit.

 

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, explained that the household pest control unit is a special unit and the only entity within the University entrusted with conducting control on scientific bases and modern methods, stressing the keenness of the university administration to protect university facilities and reduce the health risks caused by the spread of pests, and the need for continuous awareness of proper prevention and control methods.

 

  For his side, Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim pointed out that the unit aims to combat all types of pests, focusing on the use of modern environmentally friendly methods, to ensure public safety to enhance the effectiveness of preventive measures; as well as its role in community service and environmental awareness, through awareness seminars, training courses, workshops, field visits, exhibitions of modern spraying tools, safe pesticides and their alternatives and modern trends in control methods, to enhance the healthy environment on campus, and provide a role model in the application of modern environmental standards.

 

  Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim stated that the meeting resulted in discussing the work plan inside the campus and the target units, discussing the development plan and working to serve the external community, discussing the current work method and the possibility of targeted development, and discussing the tools and operating requirements required for the unit.

 

 The meeting was attended by Dr. Sayed Shehata, professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Amer Fayez, professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud, assistant professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Mr. Mahmoud Fawzi, director general of environmental projects, Ms. Indira Gandhi, Director General of private funds, and Mr. Mustafa Jaber, director general of restrooms.

 

 It is worth mentioning; it was approved the establishment of a unit for household pest control (RCB) and the University of the sector of community service and environmental development, the decision of the Council of Assiut University in its meeting No. (700), held on July 28, 2019 the actress to 2019/8/8.
