Assiut University celebrates International Women's Day with a seminar "For you, my lady: your role in building the future"

Dr. El-Minshawy: women's empowerment is a necessity to achieve sustainable development

 

The Center for Social Therapy and Family Counseling at the Faculty of Social Work at Assiut University organized a seminar entitled "For You, My Lady: Your Role in Building the Future", in celebration of International Women's Day, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president of the University for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Iman Abdel Aal Ahmed, dean of the College, Dr. Ghada Abdel Aal Ahmed, head of the individual service department and director of the Center for social therapy and family counseling, the rapporteur of the seminar, Ms. Asma Ibrahim, Managing Director of the center, in addition to the participation of faculty, staff and students.

 

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed the University's keenness to celebrate International Women's Day, based on its pivotal role in building and developing society, pointing out the importance of empowering women economically and socially and enhancing their participation in decision-making, which will positively reflect on the stability and progress of society, in line with the vision of the Egyptian state to achieve comprehensive development.

 

  During his lecture, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim discussed the role of women in achieving sustainable development, explaining that empowering them contributes to improving health and education, strengthening the economy, supporting the family, and strengthening community Security, which contributes to building a more balanced and prosperous society.

 

  For her part, Dr. Eman Abdel Aal praised the ability of women to bring positive change in society through their involvement in various fields, stressing that the seminar came to highlight their achievements and their leading role.

 

Dr. Ghada Abdel Aal explained that this event represents an opportunity to enhance awareness of the role of women in society, stressing that empowering them is an investment in a more just and prosperous future.

 

At the end of the event, the College honored Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim in recognition of his participation in the seminar.
