Within the framework of the Tamkeen initiative:The Center for Students with Disabilities at Assiut University organizes a training course on life skills

Prof. El-Minshawy: the course provides new skills for people of determination and enhances their ability to communicate, cooperate, and participate effectively in society

  The Center for the Care of Students with Disabilities at Assiut University, under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice president for education and Student Affairs, organized a training course on life skills, within the framework of the University's participation in the "Tamkeen" initiative, organized by Dr. Umniah Abdul-Kader, director of the center, and Dr. Jamal Al-Sawy, managing director of the center.

  Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed the keenness of the university administration to teach life and social skills to people of determination, within the framework of great efforts being exerted by all state bodies, to promote the integration of people of determination into society and encourage and support them in various possible ways, pointing to the University's keenness to discover and develop their skills, and to give them new skills, explaining that these skills contribute significantly to improving their quality of life and independence, enhancing their ability to participate effectively in society, as well as enabling them to achieve success in education, employment and personal goals. 

  Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla pointed out that the university is keen to hone the skills of students, especially those with determination, by participating in student activities of all kinds, which would teach students how to work as part of a team, take responsibility, and solve problems, and the training programs provided by the University contribute to enhance practical skills that can benefit students in their future careers.

Dr. Umniah Abdulkader explained that the students were divided into groups to attend the training course, and each group included (20) students from different disabilities, where they were trained in various life skills, which include; the art of success in life, self-confidence, respect for diversity, empathy, participation, cooperation, flexibility, communication with others, along with innovation skills, problem-solving, negotiation, decision-making, strategic planning, entrepreneurship, as well as resume writing skills, how to succeed in a personal interview for a job or funding for a project.
