President of Assiut University: the museum is a leading scientific and Research window and a destination for researchers and students at various stages of Education
Prof. Ahmed El - Minshawy, president of Assiut University, announced the inclusion of the "educational museum of the Egyptian fauna" under the Department of Zoology and insects at the Faculty of science at the University in the "Egypt tourist guide", issued by the Egyptian General Authority for tourism activation-Ministry of Tourism and antiquities; to be among the tourist destinations for scientific trips and delegations, and an important part of internal scientific tourism in Assiut Governorate.
In this context, Prof. Ahmed El - Minshawy received, today, in his office, Dr. Samir Abdel Tawab Hamda, director of the Egyptian General Authority for tourism promotion in Assiut, and Mr. Sherif Awad, public relations at the authority, to hand over the Egypt tourist guide issued by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion-Ministry of Tourism and antiquities; in the presence of Ms. Sahar Gamal, director of the Egypt tourism office at the University, and a member of the technical office, within the framework of the existing cooperation between the University and the Egyptian General Authority for tourism promotion; and to introduce the historical and scientific tourist components included in the University.
Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy thanked the Egyptian General Authority for tourism promotion for including the educational museum of the Egyptian fauna in its tourist guide, praising its efforts in spreading tourist awareness of the most important scientific, educational and cultural landmarks.he congratulated the Faculty of Science family on this important event, which reflects the educational, research and cultural components of Assiut University, which is a basic reference for researchers and those interested in spreading and gaining knowledge in all fields of Science, and a destination for student visitors at all different stages of Education.
Prof. El-Minshawy explained that the "educational museum of Egyptian fauna" is a distinguished scientific, educational, research and historical window, and contains living organisms that live inside Egypt, both marine and terrestrial, as the museum includes about (3000) animal specimens, from marine organisms, marine, invertebrate organisms, mammals, fish of various sizes and species, reptiles, stuffed birds, and the museum also includes an electronic library that includes more than (250) scientific films, and about (34) educational panels, of living organisms.
For his side, Dr. Samir Abdel Tawab expressed his appreciation for the cooperation between Assiut University and the branch of the Egyptian General Authority for tourism promotion in Assiut, praising the heritage of Assiut University, which has scientific capabilities, leading research units, and distinguished scientific institutions, which contributed to the University's assuming a prestigious position in the local and international circles, appreciating the efforts of the university administration in preserving scientific Holdings and rare pieces included in the educational museum of Egyptian fauna.
The museum opens its doors for educational visits from inside and outside the university, under the supervision of Dr. Abdul Hamid Abu Sahli, dean of the College, Dr. Mona Mohammed Attieh, head of the Department of animal and insects, and Dr. Ahmed Hamed Abdullah, director of the museum.
