Assiut University Organizes the Exhibition of "Triafoga Play" at the Faculty of Fine Arts
Under the patronage of Professor El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, the Faculty of Fine Arts organized an art exhibition entitled "The Play (Triafoga)... The Symbolic Dimensions of Scenography in the Formation of Space in the Theatrical Show (Triafuga)", by Dr. Ghada Salah Al-Najjar, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, in the photography hall on the ground floor of the college, within the framework of the promotion exhibitions for faculty members, and the exhibition lasts for 14 days.
The opening of the exhibition witnessed the presence of Dr. Gamal Badr, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Mohamed Adawi, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Helmy Al-Hefnawi, Dean of the College and Acting Vice Dean for Graduate Studies, and Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hakim, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and Head of the Department of Sculpture.
The exhibition presents a design vision of the elements of the scenography of the theatrical show through the employment of decoration and costumes and their relationship to lighting in the formation of the theatrical space, and is titled "Triafoga", which means "alarm" in Russian.
Professor El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, stressed that the university believes in the importance of integration between arts and scientific research in the production of applied knowledge that contributes to serving the community, pointing to the importance of creativity that combines artistic vision and academic study, reflecting the development of visual and theatrical arts. He added that the university's keenness to support art exhibitions comes within the framework of providing an academic environment that stimulates creativity and innovation, and encouraging faculty members to provide distinguished scientific and artistic production that contributes to enriching the cultural and artistic movement within the The university and beyond, and enhances its role in spreading knowledge and creativity.
The theatrical show deals with the idea of the perpetual conflict between peace and war, highlighting the dangers that may lead to the destruction of the world, through the story of the leader "Petrov" who seeks to prevent the outbreak of a new war and save humanity from its catastrophic consequences. The show also discusses a number of social and humanitarian issues related to wars, foremost of which is family disintegration, in addition to the struggle for influence, control and ambitions that exacerbate with the outbreak of conflicts, and this vision is presented in a theatrical format that combines acting performances, songs, and kinetic performances. This reflects the directorial vision and embodies the suffering of human beings around the world.
The show is written by Mohamed Zaki, directed by Mohamed Lotfy, décor and costumes by Dr. Ghada Salah Al-Najjar, and produced by the Ahmed Bahaa El-Din Culture Palace in Assiut.
Dr. Gamal Badr stressed that Assiut University pays great attention to supporting artistic creativity and scientific research in various disciplines, pointing out that the promotional exhibitions represent an important platform to showcase the scientific and artistic production of faculty members, and reflect the university's distinguished academic cadres. He added that the exhibition embodies the integration between academic research and artistic application, and highlights the role of scenography in enriching theatrical work and providing visual visions that carry intellectual and human dimensions.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Adawi explained that the arts are one of the most important means of building community awareness, with their humanitarian and cultural messages that contribute to consolidating the values of peace and tolerance and the rejection of conflicts, stressing Assiut University's keenness to support art activities and exhibitions that enhance communication between the university and society, and contribute to employing creativity to serve humanitarian and societal issues, pointing out that the exhibition presents a distinct artistic vision that reflects the role of art in discussing the issues of the contemporary world.
Dr. Jamal Badr, Dr. Mohamed Adawi, and Dr. Mohamed Helmy Al-Hefnawi praised the artistic and intellectual level reflected in the exhibition, stressing that it embodies a creative vision that combines academic research and artistic application, and reflects the university's abundance of distinguished cadres in the field of arts. They also thanked and appreciated Dr. Ghada Salah Al-Najjar for this distinguished work, wishing her continued success and further scientific and artistic successes.
The opening of the exhibition witnessed the presence of Dr. Sahar Boutros, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Mohamed Thabet, former Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts for Education and Student Affairs at the Egyptian Russian University (Badr University in Cairo), in addition to a group of faculty members, researchers and workers, as well as the presence of the faculty students.
The exhibition included the display of 13 paintings and two banners, through which Dr. Ghada Salah Al-Najjar presented a distinguished artistic vision of the elements of scenography in the theatrical show, and the opening activities concluded with the taking of commemorative photos, and Dr. Jamal Badr and Dr. Mohamed Adawi were keen to write words in the visitors' register,
during which they expressed their appreciation for the artistic and academic effort exerted in the exhibition, and praised the distinguished level of the works displayed, while wishing Dr. Ghada Salah Al-Najjar continued success and success.
