Dr. El-Minshawy receives the Assistant Secretary General of the Association of Islamic universities to discuss ways of cooperation in academic and research fields

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, received today, Wednesday, May 21, at his office, Dr. Nurhan al-Sheikh, Professor of political science at the Faculty of Economics and political science at Cairo University, and assistant secretary general of the Association of Islamic universities for foreign relations, as part of her scientific visit to the university to participate in the discussion of two master's theses at the Faculty of Commerce.

 

The meeting was attended by Dr. Alaa Abdul Hafeez, dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Nesma Heshmat, vice dean of the Faculty of Commerce for graduate studies and research, Dr. Abdul Rahim Khalil, professor of political science at the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Marwa Bakr, assistant professor of political science at the Faculty of Commerce, and Dr. Marwa Kadwani, political science teacher and rapporteur of the National Council for women in Assiut Governorate.

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University always welcomes cooperation with various regional and international bodies and organizations, to enhance the academic and Research status of the University at the Arab and Islamic levels. He explained that the meeting with the assistant secretary general of the Association of Islamic universities for Foreign Relations represented an important opportunity to discuss mechanisms of cooperation in areas of common interest, especially in supporting scientific research and exchanging academic experiences, to serve the Sustainable Development Goals and enhance the role of the university as a leading educational institution in its regional environment.

 

  The meeting discussed ways of joint cooperation between the University and the association in the fields of higher education, through reviewing a number of proposals and visions to expand the areas of partnership, in addition to discussing mechanisms for organizing joint scientific events and conferences during the coming period to serve the issues of education and scientific research.

 

Dr. Al-manshawi pointed out that supporting the scientific research system is at the forefront of Assiut University's priorities, as it is the basis on which knowledge is built and contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. He stressed the University's keenness to provide a stimulating research environment that supports innovation by financing scientific projects and enhancing research cooperation at the local and international levels, which contributes to raising the quality of research and serving community issues.

 

The president of the University added that this orientation integrates with the University's continuous endeavor to provide advanced study programs and integrated educational services that keep pace with the latest international standards, which enhances Assiut University's position as a distinguished destination for education and scientific research in the region, and makes it an attractive environment for students and researchers from inside and outside Egypt.

 

For her side, Dr. Nurhan Sheikh expressed her pleasure in visiting Assiut University, praising the scientific and research progress achieved by the university, its distinguished academic cadres and advanced infrastructure, stressing the association's interest in supporting aspects of joint cooperation with the University and coordination to activate future initiatives between the two sides.

 

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Nurhan Sheikh is participating in the discussion of two master's theses, the first submitted by researcher Ahmed Abdullah Al-Enezi, entitled: "The political role of humanitarian aid in Kuwait's foreign policy since 2012 to 2023-an analytical study," and the discussion and governance committee includes Dr. Alaa Abdul Hafiz, professor of political science and dean of the Faculty of Commerce (supervisor), Dr. Abdul Rahim Khalil, professor of political science and former head of the Department of political science at the Faculty of Commerce (a supervisor).

 

As for the second thesis submitted by the researcher Hammoud Hamad Obaid Al-Rashidi, entitled: "The role of the Kuwaiti National Assembly towards the Palestinian issue in the period from 2003 to 2023", the discussion and governance committee includes Dr. Alaa Abdul Hafid, professor of political science and dean of the Faculty of Commerce (internal member), Dr. Abdul Rahim Khalil, professor of political science and former head of the political science department at the Faculty of Commerce (supervisor), and Dr. Abdullah Faisal, assistant professor of political science at the Faculty of Commerce (supervisor)
