Dr. El-Minshawi witnesses the signing of a cooperation protocol between Assiut and South Valley universities to activate joint professional graduate programs within the framework of the alliance of central upper level universities

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and chairman of the alliance of Universities of the central upper level region, witnessed the signing of a joint cooperation protocol with South Valley University on Saturday, June 14, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Akkawi, president of South Valley University, vice presidents of Assiut and New Valley universities, and a number of faculty members from both universities.

This came during the activities of the second scientific forum for professional programs at the Faculty of Commerce – Assiut University, and in the context of the implementation of Egypt's Vision 2030 and the national strategy for higher education and scientific research 2030, which aims to create an integrated University entity within the central upper region, through maximizing the use of human and academic resources of participating universities, and the exchange of expertise and resources, in order to support sustainable development efforts in the region.

  The protocol was signed by Dr. Alaa Abdel Hafiz, dean of the Faculty of Commerce at Assiut University, and Dr. Abu Al-Hamad Mustafa Saleh, dean of the Faculty of Commerce at South Valley University.

The protocol aims to implement professional postgraduate programs (master's and doctoral) with credit hours, held within the headquarters of South Valley University, under the joint supervision of the two universities, areas of cooperation include the exchange of faculty members, the provision of curricula and educational materials, and the management of financial and administrative aspects to ensure the quality and sustainability of the programs provided.

 Dr. El- Minshawy expressed his happiness with this cooperation, stressing that Assiut University seeks to consolidate the culture of partnership with regional universities, and activate its role as an academic and service center serving the governorates of Upper Egypt, pointing out that the protocol embodies the vision of the central-Upper Egypt alliance in building an integrated university system based on partnership and integration.

For his side, Dr. Ahmed Akkawi stressed that cooperation with Assiut University, as one of the most prestigious Egyptian universities, is an important step towards developing professional graduate programs at South Valley University, and providing high-quality education that responds to the needs of development and the local labor market.

The signing of the protocol represents a qualitative step in supporting integration between higher education institutions at the national level, activating national strategies aimed at improving the quality of Education, linking it to the needs of society and development plans in various sectors.
