Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Al-Menshawi, Acting President of Assiut University, and Dr. Maha Ghanem, Vice President of Assiut University for Community Service and Environmental Development, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Magdy Alwan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, received the guest of the University, Prof. Sumigawa, Professor at the Department of Archaeology at Kyoto University, Japan, at his office at the headquarters of the Faculty of Arts, as well as Dr. Mona Hassan, a teacher in the Department of Archaeology at the Faculty of Arts, and Dr. Hind Hassanin, a teacher of electronic journalism at the Department of Media at the Faculty of Arts, on the sidelines of his scientific visits to the Department of Archaeology. At the Faculty of Arts and to discuss ways of cooperation and joint work between the two sides in the field of archaeological studies, His Excellency the Dean pointed out during the meeting the importance of developing the educational services provided by the Faculty of Arts to its students and the extent of its keenness to promote partnerships and exchange of cultures between different universities in line with the requirements of the labor market, then His Excellency went to accompany the professor on a visit to the university H.E. Prof. Dr. Maha Ghanem received and welcomed the guest of the university and discussed ways of joint cooperation between the two sides in the field of archaeological studies as well as discussing the expansion of cooperation ties to include various fields and disciplines in general, stressing the continuation of the university's strategy aimed at expanding the frameworks of joint scientific cooperation with major universities and international scientific institutions and strengthening those partnerships through the conclusion of a number of agreements and protocols of joint cooperation. Her Excellency invited Professor Sumigawa to visit all the archaeological sites in the Islamic, Coptic and Pharaonic province of Assiut as well as to attend the celebration of the Great Nile Loyalty in August.
