Assiut University witnesses the Work of the Astronomical Observation Camp in the Assiut Valley Protectorate

Prof. Ahmed Al-Menshawi, Acting President of Assiut University, stressed the keenness of the university administration role in the activation of tourism awareness because of its important role in the global economy and the social and civilizational growth of peoples, pointing to the role of the university in developing the tourism awareness of its students through effective participation to consider the university as the scientific environment that greatly affects intellectually and culturally on its children of the university,  Stressing the need to refine the student's personality, build awareness and connect students with the external community to acquire experiences and skills. 
This came under the patronage of His Excellency to launch the work of the astronomical observation camp in the Assiut Valley 'Astronomy Reserve in the sky of Assiut: A renewed tourist vision" under the sky and above the land of the Assiut Valley this evening until dawn on Friday on the occasion of the annual observation of the Perseids in cooperation with the Astronomy Club to manage the scientific and technological activity through the Unit for the Development and Activation of Tourism Awareness at Assiut University.
For his part, Prof. Ahmed Sherit, Director General of Youth Welfare, explained that the program of launching the activities of the camp will include the observation of the Perseids as well as monitoring and imaging the Moon, the planets of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn through the telescopes of the Astronomy Club, and the program also includes conducting safari tours in caves and mountains and skiing in the sand mountains in the Assiut Valley, explaining that the program will be in the presence of Mr. Walid Zeidan, Director of Scientific and Technological Sector,  Ms. Heba Hegazy, responsible for tourism revitalization, and Prof. Ibrahim Nafadi, Director of the Department of the Nature Reserve.
