The South Egypt Institute of oncology organizes a seminar entitled "Your Health is Amana" to raise awareness of oncology and its relationship with nutrition

Under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the southern Egypt Institute of oncology organized an awareness seminar entitled"Your Health is a trust"; to raise awareness of oncology and its relationship with nutrition, under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president of the University for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Mohammed Abu Al-Majd, dean of the Institute, Dr. Amr Farouk, undersecretary of the Institute for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Ibrahim Abulayoun, director of the University Oncology Hospital, Dr. Shaima Hassan Shaaban, professor and head of the Department of Oncology Pathology and coordinator of the seminar, in the presence of Mortgage Abdel Raouf, Director General of preaching, a group of faculty members and doctors, the administrative staff of the institute, representatives of the Egyptian family house in Assiut, and civil society.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Adel Gabr, professor and head of the Department of oncology at the Institute, and Dr. Lama Mohamed Ali, nutritionist at the southern Egypt Institute of Oncology،

Prof. El-Minshawy stressed the importance of the theme of the symposium, which aimed to present everything new in the field of oncology awareness and its relationship with nutrition, through discussing a number of axes on awareness of how to prevent cancer and follow modern methods in the way of nutrition as well as health education, the importance of early detection of infected patients, in addition to how to contribute to the treatment of cancer patients in advanced stages.

Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim pointed to the awareness and service role of the southern Egypt Institute in light of the development and spread of diseases, especially cancer tumors, which contributes to preventing their occurrence, stressing the importance of organizing awareness seminars and meetings to raise awareness among community members and reduce the incidence of cancer tumors, in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030, related to the good health of individuals.

Dr. Mohammed Abu Al-Majd praised the university administration's support for all research, scientific and service activities carried out by the institute, as well as supporting community communication, pointing out the Institute's keenness to play its role in promoting and providing community service to oncology patients and psychological support for them.

Dr. Amr Farouk explained that the South Egypt Institute of Oncology provides its medical and diagnostic services to various governorates of Upper Egypt for its abundance of distinguished medical capabilities and cadres, stressing that today's seminar comes within the framework of the University's efforts to raise the level of awareness among individuals and reviewed all that is new in the field of oncology awareness and its relationship with nutrition.

During his lecture, Dr. Adel Gabr spoke about how to prevent cancer, the use of food as a type of prevention, its role in building a tumor-free body, and the importance of early detection, reviewing the main factors that may cause cancer, including viruses and bacteria, radiation, chemical factors, genetic factors and genetic predisposition, hormonal factors, and nutritional factors, in addition to reviewing the state's awareness and educational efforts through the launch of the Presidential Initiative for early detection of cancer under the supervision of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, including breast, colon, cervical, prostate cancer and the lung.

Dr. Lama Mohamed Ali, a nutritionist at the South Egypt Institute of oncology, reviewed the methods of peaceful nutrition for cancer patients, the medications that should be available, and highlighted unhealthy nutrition methods to avoid them.
