Dr. El-Minshawy participates in the annual Iftar ceremony for international students in the presence of the minister of Higher Education 

  Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, participated in the annual Iftar ceremony for international students, which was attended by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, along with a number of university presidents, ambassadors, cultural advisers, ministry leaders, media professionals, and international students of various nationalities.

Dr. El-Minshawy expressed his happiness to participate in this event, which reflects the Egyptian state's interest in enhancing its role as a distinguished educational destination for expatriate students, pointing out that Assiut University pays special attention to supporting expatriate students and providing them with the best academic and Administrative Services, which contributes to developing their skills and preparing them to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market.

The president of Assiut University stressed that the university is working according to a clear strategic vision (2024-2029) in line with the national strategy for higher education, through which it seeks to achieve sustainable development goals and provide a developed educational environment that integrates modern disciplines and Inter-curricular programs.

  For his side, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of higher education and scientific research, stressed during his speech that the file of attracting international students is a priority in the ministry's work plan, in order to enhance Egypt's role as an attractive destination for international students, pointing out that the state is working according to an ambitious plan aimed at making Egypt a unique educational destination in the field of higher education and scientific research.

The minister pointed to the great development carried out by the ministry to improve the system of services for expatriate students, by facilitating the application and registration procedures via the "study in Egypt" platform, and continuing to provide the best educational opportunities for them, ensuring that they receive an integrated academic experience.

Dr. Ayman Ashour also highlighted the diversity of higher education institutions in Egypt, the provision of modern inter-study programs that qualify students for the requirements of the labor market, in addition to partnerships with prestigious international universities to grant dual degrees in modern specialties. He stressed the interest of Egyptian universities in cultural, sports and tourism activities, which contributes to the creation of a rich educational environment at all levels, pointing out that international students are ambassadors for their country and represent Egypt's soft power.

  Dr. Ayman Farid stressed the keenness of the Cultural Affairs and missions sector to provide a distinguished educational environment and modern study programs that meet the needs of the labor market, explaining that the increasing number of international students reflects the development of the higher education system in Egypt, which includes the modernization of study programs, the establishment of new universities, and the provision of multiple options for study between public, private, national and technological universities and branches of foreign universities, which contributes to the activation of educational tourism. He also pointed out that the "study in Egypt" initiative aims to facilitate the application procedures and promote Egyptian universities globally through international partnerships, educational exhibitions, and virtual meetings to introduce foreign students to study opportunities in Egypt.

Both Dr. Ayman Ashour and Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy were keen to take commemorative photos with the expatriate students, and held a friendly dialogue with them to check the level of services provided to them at Egyptian universities.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Amr Sayed, Faculty of sports sciences and director of the Office of international students at Assiut University, along with a number of international students from Palestine and Kuwait, who expressed their appreciation for the academic, administrative and cultural support provided by Assiut University to enhance their educational experience in Egypt.
