On the anniversary of the ‏Retrieval of El Arish, Dr. El-Minshawy confirms the role of Assiut University in national education and consolidates the values of loyalty and belonging among students

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stated that the twenty-sixth of May carries with it an eternal national memory, which is the anniversary of the return of the city of El Arish to Egyptian sovereignty in 1979, after years of occupation that followed the setback of 1967, stressing that this anniversary is a living embodiment of the victory of the Egyptian will, and fulfillment of the sacrifices of the heroes of the Armed Forces who restored dignity to the homeland, and underlined with their blood the epic of the Great October victory, which paved the way for the return of every inch of our precious land.

 

Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that the city of Al-Arish, with its strategic and historical value on the Mediterranean coast, has not only been an arena for military battles but has become today an icon of development and progress, under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who is leading the state towards comprehensive development in North Sinai through major projects including infrastructure, industry, agriculture, tourism and new urban communities.

 

The president pointed out that Assiut University, as one of the most prestigious Egyptian universities, pays great attention to its role in national education and to instilling the values of loyalty and belonging in the souls of students through educational programs and awareness-raising activities that promote a conscious understanding of national history, the role of the armed forces, and the challenges facing the homeland.

 

Assiut University, with its academic and enlightening status, affirms its full support for all the state's efforts in the reconstruction of Sinai, promoting stability and development in it, valuing the balanced approach between maintaining security and combating terrorism and achieving economic and social development that reflects on the citizen in his life, opportunities and the future of his children.

 

The president of Assiut University paid tribute to the souls of the martyrs, and to every hand that builds and works for the uplift of Egypt, calling on God to preserve the homeland and perpetuate the grace of security, stability, and sovereignty.
