Assiut University: the Center for Sustainable Development continues to follow up on the action plan and activate the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030

Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the executive committee of the Center for Sustainable Development at the University held a meeting to follow up on the action plan and implement the strategic goals of the center, under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president of the University for community service and environmental development, and in the presence of Dr. Saleh Mahmoud Ismail, director of the center, and members of the executive committee.

 

In a statement to Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, he stressed that Assiut University attaches great priority to promoting the concepts of sustainable development and dedicating them in all its academic, research, and community activities, pointing out that the university is moving steadily towards achieving its strategic vision in serving the community and achieving comprehensive development, explaining that the Center for Sustainable Development is one of the main arms leading the University's efforts in supporting environmental issues and achieving a balance between economic, social and environmental dimensions, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt's Vision 2030.

 

For his side, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim pointed to the University's keenness to consolidate the culture of sustainable development as part of the corporate identity through fruitful partnerships with government institutions and civil society, praising the role of the Center for Sustainable Development in providing scientific and practical solutions that contribute to serving the environment and society.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Saleh Mahmoud Ismail reviewed the goals of the center and the axes of the executive committee's work, stressing that the executive plan includes the formation of three main working groups, each group is responsible for one of the dimensions of sustainable development: the environmental, economic and social dimensions, to ensure the integration of efforts, and the implementation of activities and events with real impact in various sectors of the University and society.
