On the basis of the distinction of CESS and the branch of the American Geophysical Association in Assiut University and the achievement of the scientific distinction standards, in addition to the remarkable success achieved in international activities, Assiut University was selected on May 14, 2014,  for the location of the branch of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists; the largest and most leading international association  in the US. Additionally, Professor Aly Helmi Abdel Aati, Prof. Emeritus, Geology Dept. was selected to supervise the branch.
