  • Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the faculties of Science and agriculture organized an educational seminar entitled "Climate changes and their impact on the sustainable environment of living organisms", under the slogan "Our country is a secretariat in our hands", under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president of the University for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Abdul Hamid Abdul Tawab Abdul Hamid Abu Sahli, dean of the Faculty of Science, and Dr. Adel Mohammed Mahmoud Abu Dahab, dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.

    The seminar was organized under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Abu Al-Oyoun, undersecretary of the College of Science for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Essam Fadl Mohammed Abu Zeid, undersecretary of the College of Science for community service and environmental development, and Dr. Jalal Abdel Fattah Ibrahim al-Saghir, undersecretary of the College of Agriculture for community service and environmental development, with the participation of several undersecretaries of colleges, heads of departments, faculty members, the auxiliary staff, employees and students at various colleges of the University.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the organization of this seminar comes within the framework of the University's keenness to promote environmental awareness among students and the university community, and to keep pace with global efforts to meet environmental challenges. He pointed out that the University seeks through such seminars to enhance its awareness and scientific role, and highlight the importance of preserving the environment and ensuring its sustainability for a better future for future generations.

    For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim explained that climate change is a global challenge that requires concerted research and institutional efforts to face it, stressing the importance of promoting environmental education among society groups, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt's Vision 2030.

    Dr. Mohammed Abu Al-Oyoun pointed out the importance of holding these scientific and educational seminars to enhance the awareness of the university community of the importance of preserving the environment and adopting sustainable development policies.

    Dr. Essam Fadl Mohammed Abu Zeid stressed that the Faculty of Science pays special attention to environmental research, and seeks to highlight the impact of climate change on living organisms, and ways to achieve a sustainable environment.

    The seminar program included several specialized scientific lectures, where Dr. Adel Mohammed Mahmoud Abu Al-Dahab presented a lecture entitled" green economy in light of climate changes", in which he discussed the mechanisms of achieving a green agro-vegetable and animal economy, and reviewed the projects of the Faculty of Agriculture in this field, such as roof cultivation, Azula production unit, expansion in jojoba cultivation, in addition to organizing a green energy exhibition.

    Dr. Nasser Mohammed Abdul Latif, professor of Zoology and entomology, also presented a lecture entitled" The impact of environmental changes on living organisms and ways to combat them", in which he discussed biodiversity and means of adaptation to climate changes.

    Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Abdul Rahman Abdul Jawad, assistant professor at the Department of Botany and Microbiology, spoke about "climate change and their impact on plant diversity and proposed solutions to achieve sustainable development".

    Dr. Mohammed Abdul Latif Juma, assistant professor at the Department of Botany and Microbiology, concluded the seminar with a lecture entitled" Microorganisms in a changing climate: challenges and opportunities to achieve sustainability", where he reviewed the relationship between climate change and the spread of microorganisms and mycotoxins.

    At the end of the event, the lecturers were honored in recognition of their scientific contributions and efforts to enrich the symposium.

  • Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the South Egypt Cancer Institute organized an awareness seminar entitled “Healthy Nutrition and Cancer Diseases”, as part of the university’s commitment to promoting health awareness among both the university community and the wider society.

     

    The seminar was held under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Aleem, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Mohamed Abou El Magd, Dean of the South Egypt Cancer Institute; Dr. Amr Farouk, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Ibrahim Abu El-Oyoun, Director of the University Oncology Hospital. The event was attended by faculty members, doctors, and administrative staff at the institute.

     

    Dr. El-Minshawy emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the relationship between healthy nutrition and disease prevention, particularly cancer, especially cancerous tumors, noting that the university seeks through these events to promote health culture and support prevention and treatment efforts. 

     

    In his speech, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Aleem pointed out that the seminar comes within the university's efforts to spread health awareness and combat diseases, stressing the importance of organizing awareness events that aim to protect individuals from cancerous tumors, in line with the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030.

     

    Dr. Mohamed Abou El Magd also praised the university administration's support for the institute's research and scientific activities, explaining that the institute seeks to provide awareness and treatment services to oncology patients, enhance its role in serving the community and provide psychological support to patients.

     

    The seminar’s keynote speaker was Dr. Osama El-Asheer, Professor of Pediatrics and Head of the Clinical Nutrition Unit at the University Children’s Hospital, and President of the Upper Egypt Association for Clinical Nutrition. In his lecture, he addressed methods of cancer prevention through proper nutrition and the importance of early detection. He outlined the factors contributing to cancer, which include viruses and bacteria, radiation, chemical, genetic, hereditary, hormonal, and nutritional factors.

     

    Dr. Osama El-Asheer also reviewed national early detection initiatives launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which include screening for breast, colon, cervical, prostate, and lung cancers. At the end of his lecture, he provided practical advice on proper nutrition for cancer patients and dietary practices that should be avoided in order to maintain a healthy and safe lifestyle.

  • Dr. El-Minshawy: honorable representation of Assiut University students at the 13th ibdaa festival, and I invite them to continue excellence and success

    In a new achievement added to its track record, Assiut University has achieved (11) various awards in the literary, scientific, and artistic fields within the activities of the "13 creativity festival" organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the academic year 2024/2025, under the supervision of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, with the participation of universities, higher institutes, government, and private academies.

    The University's participation came under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Madiha Darwish, general supervisor of student activities, and Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Administration of student welfare at the University.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his pride in the participating university students, congratulating them on the individual and collective awards won by the University. He called for continuing participation in student activities and enhancing the honorable representation of the University in local and international forums.

    For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula praised the efforts of the staff of the student welfare department, who supported the participants until they achieved these achievements, stressing the keenness of the university administration to provide all possibilities to support students and hone their talents in various fields.

    In the artistic field, the University's music team achieved the second place (non-specialized group playing), and the team included (17) students from various colleges, and the University's folk arts team consisting of (25)students received the award for the best musician and singing in the field of folk arts.

    And in individual achievements: the student / Mario Wagdy Kamel _ Faculty of Dentistry _ won the first place in the solo performance, and
    Student/Mira Reza _ fourth division _ Faculty of Fine Arts, won third place in the field of color photography (specialized).

    The student/Muhammad Ali, fourth division, Faculty of Engineering, also received the best decoration award in the field of theatrical performances, and the student/ Ali Ayman, second division, Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, received the jury award for the best movement performer in popular arts.

    As for the cultural activity, the student/ Mohammed Anwar _ Faculty of nursing _ won the second place in colloquial poetry, the student/ Diab Saudi Diab _ Faculty of computers and information _ achieved the second place in classical poetry, the student/Nada Khaled _ Faculty of Fine Arts _ won the third place in the field of reporter, and the student/ Mahmoud Mohammed _ Faculty of medicine _ won the third place in playwriting.

    In the scientific activity, the university achieved third place in the field of scientific innovations, through a team consisting of students Mohamed Hossam Mohamed, Amr Noureddine Abdellatif, and George Nabih Farid (Faculty of Engineering).

    The delegation of the artistic activity was supervised by Mr. Mohammed Juma, director of the arts department, and led and trained by Mr. Hassan Badari, Ms. Rasha Jalal, Ms. Sheri Wajdi, Mr. Talaat Bakri, and Mr. Ahmed Mahmoud.

    The cultural activity delegation was also supervised by Mr. Hashem Sayed, Ms. Abeer Yousry, Ms. Marwa Abdel Fattah, and Mr. Ahmed Nasr, while the scientific activity delegation was led by Mr. Walid Zeidan, Mr. Ahmed Hashem, and Mr. Mahmoud Al-Kashef.

    The general supervision of the delegation was attended by Mr. Mohammed Sayed, director of the public relations and media unit, Mr. Mohammed Abdel Fattah, director of the Office of the Director General of the department, Ms. Ashwaq Mukhtar, Ms. Ghada Mahmoud, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Asran, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Rifi.

  • On Wednesday, May 7, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, received Dr. Ali Abdelkarim, Professor of Urology at the Faculty of Medicine – Alexandria University and President of the Mediterranean Association for Precision Surgery in Urologic Oncology. The visit comes as part of Dr. Abdelkarim’s academic engagement at the university, where he is participating in the discussion of a master’s thesis at the South Egypt Cancer Institute in the field of laparoscopic surgery of the bladder.

     

    The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Abou El Magd, Dean of the South Egypt Cancer Institute, Dr. Ibrahim Abou El Ayoun, Director of the Oncology Hospital, Dr. Doaa Wadih Maximos, Head of the Department of Surgical Oncology at the Institute, Dr. Ali Zeidan, Professor of Surgical Oncology at the Institute, and Mostafa Hadia Abdel Salam, Teaching Assistant of Surgical Oncology at the Department of Surgical Oncology.

     

    Dr. El-Minshawy welcomed Dr. Abdelkarim and praised his distinguished status as one of the world’s leading experts in urological endoscopic surgery. He emphasized the university’s ongoing commitment to supporting the medical sector and promoting research activities across its faculties. He also highlighted the significant trust placed by citizens of Upper Egypt in the university’s healthcare services, due to their outstanding quality and humanitarian approach.

     

    Dr. El-Minshawy also praised the continuous development of the South Egypt Cancer Institute, which is an advanced international center for endoscopic microsurgery and plays an important role in training young doctors and exchanging experiences between Assiut University professors and Egyptian universities, all aimed at enhancing healthcare quality and achieving the highest recovery rates for cancer patients in Upper Egypt.

     

    For his part, Dr. Ali Abdelkarim expressed his pride in visiting Assiut University, praising its outstanding scientific and medical capabilities, and emphasizing his keenness to participate in its scientific events and benefit from its advanced research expertise. He also praised the remarkable development in laparoscopic surgeries at the South Egypt Cancer Institute, which aligns with the highest global standards of medical excellence.

     

    It is worth mentioning that Dr. Ali Abdelkarim is participating in the discussion of the master's thesis submitted by Dr. Mostafa Hadia Abdel Salam, entitled “A Comparative Study Between Open Radical Cystectomy and Laparoscopic Radical Cystectomy in the Short Term.” 
    The discussion committee includes Dr. Mohamed Abou El Magd, Professor of Surgical Oncology and Dean of South Egypt Cancer Institute (Supervisor), Dr. Ali Zeidan, Professor of Surgical Oncology at the Institute (Supervisor), and Dr. Mahmoud Hussein Al Shuaibi, Professor of Surgical Oncology at South Egypt Cancer Institute (Internal Discussant).

  • Assiut University witnessed a variety of events and activities from April 25 to May 1, 2025, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence and active participation in societal issues. These efforts strengthened its position as a leading educational institution contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt’s Vision 2030.

    • Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the occasion of Labor Day, on behalf of himself and the entire university community.

    • Dr. El-Menshawy chaired the meeting of the new Board of Directors of Assiut University Club to follow up on development efforts and discuss summer vacation activities, commending the achievements of the new administration.

    • He congratulated Dr. Noubi Mohamed Hassan, Vice President of Assiut National University for Academic Affairs, for winning third place in the Prince Naif Arab Security Studies Award 2024.

    • Dr. El-Menshawy welcomed Major General Dr. Hesham Abou El-Nasr, Governor of Assiut, to strengthen joint cooperation and support developmental and societal initiatives.

    • Both Dr. El-Menshawy and Governor Abou El-Nasr attended the opening of the 35th Annual Conference of the Faculty of Medicine at Assiut University, titled “Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare: Benefits and Challenges.”

    • Dr. El-Menshawy congratulated Dr. Gamal Badr on the presidential decree appointing him as Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research at Assiut University.

    • He chaired the coordination committee meeting to follow up on the new University Cancer Hospital project, urging faster implementation and adherence to the timeline.

    • Dr. El-Menshawy also chaired the academic council meeting of Assiut National University and extended congratulations to President El-Sisi on Sinai Liberation Day, emphasizing the political leadership’s role in promoting development and establishing national universities.

    • He praised the achievement of students with disabilities at Assiut University for winning 22 medals in athletics during the 52nd Martyr El-Rifai Sports Tournament.

    • Dr. El-Menshawy announced that Assiut University’s men’s volleyball team secured third place in the national finals of the 52nd Martyr El-Rifai University Championship.

    • Under the supervision of Dr. Gamal Badr, a workshop on “Statistical Analysis Using SPSS” was held as part of the library development services, organized by the General Directorate of Talent Development and the University Libraries Directorate.

    • Assiut University launched the “Assiut University News” podcast in English during April 11–17, 2025, to enhance communication with the academic community both locally and internationally.

    • Dr. El-Menshawy participated in the Supreme Council of Universities meeting hosted by Hurghada University.

    • As part of cultural and educational cooperation between Egypt and Japan, students from the Japanese Center at Assiut University participated in a cultural evening promoting Egyptian-Japanese collaboration.

    • The Faculty of Medicine launched its Student Day activities within its 35th Annual Conference titled “Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare: Benefits and Challenges.”

    • A training workshop on “Uses and Future of Artificial Intelligence” was organized by the Center for Future Studies in collaboration with the Student Welfare Department for students of the Faculty of Arts.

    • Dr. El-Menshawy praised Assiut University students for their excellence in the 11th National Ideal Student Competition held at Fayoum University.

    • He also commended the students’ performance in the final session of the 13th season of the Egyptian Cabinet Simulation Model, supervised by Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.

    • The Faculty of Fine Arts held an art exhibition titled “Symbolic Representations of the Palestinian Cause in the Theatrical Scenography of ‘Naima’”.

    • Assiut University’s Innovation Projects Unit supported student projects and discussed future plans to enhance innovation and creativity, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla.

    • The English Language Center at the Faculty of Arts honored Dr. Hassan Abdel-Shafiq, the former director of the center, for his efforts in serving students, with Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Alim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in attendance.

    • The Faculty of Specific Education organized an art exhibition titled “African Geometries”, reflecting artistic creativity and cultural identity under the supervision of Dr. Gamal Badr.

    • Dr. El-Menshawy and an Assiut University delegation participated in the First Conference of University Hospitals held at Ain Shams University.

    • Due to bad weather conditions, Dr. El-Menshawy announced the suspension of classes at Assiut University on Wednesday.

    • A workshop titled “How to Write Nomination Applications” was held as part of the third edition of the 2025 Quality and Excellence Award.

    • Dr. El-Menshawy declared a state of high alert in Assiut University hospitals in preparation for expected weather fluctuations.

    • He confirmed that the University Council, in its 765th session held on April 23, 2025 (extended to April 30, 2025), reaffirmed its previous decision from session 758 (September 23, 2024), stating that final exams for the second semester of the academic year 2024/2025 will end on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

    • Assiut University received a delegation from the Ministry of Finance and E-Finance Company to follow up on the development of the financial system and digital transformation in the university and its hospitals.

    • The university hosted the 18th Annual Conference of the Upper Egypt Diabetes and Endocrinology Society.

  • Dr. El-Minshawy: The forum is an important step to enhance the role of the University in preparing qualified educational cadres in caring for children with special needs

    Assiut University President: The forum is in line with the state's trends in empowering people of determination and integrating them within Egypt's Vision 2030

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, opened today, Wednesday, May 7, the second forum for students of teachers of children with special needs and the Montessori curriculum, organized by the Faculty of Early Childhood Education.

     

    The forum is held to celebrate the conclusion of the activities of the students of the first division, which have two programs: preparing teachers for children with special needs and preparing teachers for children with the integrated activities system of Montessori. These programs are supervised by Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Yara Ibrahim, dean of the college, and the chairman of the forum.

     

    The forum's activities were attended by: Dr. Ghada sweifi, vice dean for education and student affairs, coordinator of the forum, Dr. Manal Anwar, vice dean for graduate studies and research, Dr. Lamia Kadwani, vice dean for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Asma Abdulkarim, Secretary of the forum, Dr. Rania Al-Jundi, Dr. Wafa Maher, the decisions of the forum.

     

    A number of directors and officials of centers and institutions specialized in children's education, representatives of the Department of Special Education for Education and Inclusive Kindergartens, and a selection of faculty members at the faculties of Education, Early Childhood Education, and Qualitative Education also attended.

    At the beginning of his speech during the opening of the forum, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his happiness with the participation of the College of education for early childhood in the opening of its second forum for students of teachers of children with special needs and the Montessori curriculum, stressing that this event represents an important step towards enhancing the role of the University in preparing qualified educational cadres, possessing the competence and knowledge to keep abreast of the developments of the educational process, and responding to the requirements of educational development, especially in the fields of early childhood and caring for children with special needs, as they are important foundations in building a more just and inclusive society.

     

    The president of the University added: "the organization of this forum comes within the framework of the great attention paid by the state to supporting and empowering people of determination, a trend that His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi always emphasizes by making their rights and full integration into society a national priority and a key pillar in achieving the development goals within Egypt's Vision 2030 ."

     

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University assumes a great responsibility in preparing and qualifying educational cadres capable of positively interacting with the needs of this dear category of compatriots, by providing them with skills and knowledge that qualify them to work efficiently and professionally in this important humanitarian and educational field.

     

    He added that the university continues to develop its academic and training programs in line with the latest educational trends, and the most prominent of these programs is the Montessori curriculum, which has proven successful in supporting children's abilities and providing an educational environment that takes into account individual differences and promotes self-learning and creativity.

     

    The president of Assiut University stressed that this forum embodies the outstanding fruit of the activities of the students of the first division with two leading programs: the program for preparing teachers of children with special needs, and the program for preparing teachers of children with the system of integrated activities – Montessori, which reflect the vision of the College in preparing a generation of scientifically and educationally qualified teachers.

     

    At the end of his speech, Dr. El-Minshaw extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who contributed to the organization of this forum, including the faculty members, the auxiliary staff, students, and administrators, for their sincere efforts in making this important event a success, hoping that the forum will achieve its goals in enriching the experiences of our students and preparing them to be teachers with a high degree of efficiency and responsibility.

     

    Dr. Yara Ibrahim explained that the forum aimed to highlight the college's role in preparing future teachers in line with the needs of the labor market, and at the same time embodies the college's vision of linking academic education with practical application, through partnership with community institutions, and providing opportunities for its students to interact directly with real-life work environments.

     

    She added that this is in line with the national strategy for higher education and scientific research in Egypt 2030, which aims to promote innovation and link education with the labor market, as well as support the Sustainable Development Goals, especially the fourth goal related to ensuring equitable and inclusive quality education for all.

     

    In this context, the chairperson of the forum stressed that the college offers two distinct programs: the program for preparing teachers of children with special needs and the Montessori program, both of which seek to qualify educational cadres capable of achieving effective integration and dealing with diverse educational environments efficiently and consciously.

     

    Within the framework of the forum activities, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy opened a simulation exhibition for the "Montessori" kindergarten, preparing children's teachers with the "Montessori" integrated activities system. the exhibition included a variety of educational and sensory aids designed according to the Montessori philosophy, which takes into account individual differences between children, supports active interaction and the development of their sensory and motor skills. Among the tools on display are: color boxes, Brown ladder, pink tower, spinning box, and sanding boards.

     

    The exhibition was held under the supervision of Dr. Wafa Maher, assistant professor at the Department of Basic Sciences, and Dr. Rania Al-Jundi, assistant professor at the Department of Educational Sciences, and coordinator of the program for preparing children's teachers with the integrated activities system "Montessori".

     

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy also opened the exhibition of educational products and tools for children with special needs, which was presented by the students of the special needs teachers' preparation program. The exhibition included a set of educational models designed by the students of the program, to develop cognitive, motor, and social skills in children and contribute to facilitating the educational process and achieving effective integration within the educational environment.

     

    The exhibition was organized under the supervision of: Dr. Reham Al-meliji, head of the Department of Educational Sciences, Dr. Manal Anwar, professor at the Department of Educational Sciences and vice dean of the college for graduate studies and research, Dr. Doaa Mohammed Mustafa, head of the Department of Psychological Sciences, Dr. Jihad Taha, teacher at the Department of Educational Sciences and program coordinator.

     

    The forum witnessed various artistic events, where the students of the first band presented an awareness show entitled "moment of awareness", followed by distinguished performances by the children of Al Noor school for the blind and Al Amal school for the deaf, highlighting their talents and outstanding abilities.

     

    The events also included a singing performance in sign language, as well as the performance of "the descendants of Montessori", presented by the students of the first troupe of the Montessori system Teacher Preparation Program for children, and the operetta "Zik Zina", presented by one of the distinguished graduates of the College in the field of special education.

     

    At the end of the opening session of the forum, the forum Shield was presented to Dr. Ahmed Al-manshawi, president of the University, and Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and student affairs, in appreciation of their continuous support for the activities of the college.

     

    Ms. Mona Abu Talab, director of the special education department at the Directorate of education, Ms. hind suaifi, director of Al Noor school for the blind, Mr. Ahmed Farouk, director of Al Amal school for the deaf, in addition to the participating children and supervisors from Al Noor and Al Amal schools, were also honored in recognition of their active role and distinguished contributions to the success of the forum's activities.

     

    The forum included the holding of two Scientific Sessions that discussed the most prominent challenges facing the reality of specialized education. The first session, entitled "Preparing teachers of the special needs program", addressed the issues and problems facing institutions and caregivers of children with special needs, supported by the results of a field survey that included a number of special education centers in Assiut governorate, which added a practical dimension to the dialogue.

     

    The second session, which was entitled "Preparing teachers of the Montessori integrated activities program", focused on the challenges facing kindergarten teachers in applying the Montessori philosophy, which contributes to the development of the educational environment according to a modern educational methodology that supports the child's development.

  • Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the Faculty of Arts organized on Tuesday, May 6, a distinguished scientific symposium entitled "Dialogue of cultures and New Horizons for scientific cooperation", in the Hall of Dr. Ezzat Abdullah at the college, and hosted by Professor Dr. Gaby Samaan, professor of intercultural communication and director of Middle Eastern Studies at the American University of Toledo, who is currently visiting the university as part of international academic cooperation events.

     

    The seminar was supervised and attended by Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research, and Dr. Magdy Alwan, dean of the Faculty of Arts.

     

     The seminar was attended by several leaders of the Faculty of arts, including Dr. Mohammed Abu Rahab, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Sameh Al Banna, vice dean for graduate studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Rahab Al-dakhli, head of the media department and media advisor to the president of the University, professor Arwa Nobi Mohammed, assistant teacher at the media department and Fulbright scholar, the coordinators of the Seminar, Professor Ezz Al-Mansouri, Secretary of the college, as well as several department heads, faculty members, Program Coordinators, members of the students.

     

     Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed the importance of cultural communication and academic openness, pointing out that such events enhance the capabilities of students and researchers and open up new horizons for understanding and international cooperation. He pointed out that intercultural dialogue begins with respect and grows with understanding, stressing that Assiut University is keen to cooperate with international bodies and institutions as part of its vision to provide advanced university education that keeps pace with global changes.

     

    On his side, Dr. Jamal Badr welcomed Dr. Gaby Simaan, praising his role in supporting scientific research in his field, and stressing the University's keenness to expand its international partnerships with prestigious academic bodies such as the Fulbright Commission, including support for the development of scientific research. He also invited students to take advantage of international scholarships and engage in scientific and cultural exchange programs.

     

    In the same context, Dr. Magdy Alwan expressed his appreciation to the university administration for its continuous support to the faculty, stressing that the seminar comes as an extension of a series of scientific and cultural events aimed at expanding the understanding and enhancing academic openness among students.

     

    During his lecture, Dr. Gaby Samaan reviewed the concept of "intercultural communication" and its importance in an increasingly interconnected world, pointing out that this academic discipline originated in the sixties of the last century, and is interested in understanding the other and avoiding cultural collisions. He also stressed that the success of international cooperation depends on the ability to build bridges of understanding, awareness of the culture of the other, and respect for it.

     

    At the end of his lecture, Dr. Gaby Samaan praised the efforts of Assiut University in supporting scientific research and developing the Graduate Studies sector, noting his aspiration for future cooperation, especially in the fields of preserving human heritage and teaching languages as a primary means of promoting dialogue between peoples.

  • The Graduate Studies and research sector at the Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut University, organized, on Tuesday, May 6, a scientific seminar entitled "ethics of scientific research", targeting graduate students, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and the supervision of Dr. Jamal Badr Mohammed, vice president for graduate studies and research, and Dr. Adel Mohammed Mahmoud, dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and at the headquarters of the international conference hall at the college.

     

     Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the seminar aims to spread the culture of scientific research ethics and activate the controls and mechanisms organized for the preparation and publication of theses and scientific research in various disciplines, in addition to raising the awareness of graduate researchers of the importance of adherence to the values of integrity and research honesty, and the protection of intellectual and moral rights, which contributes to strengthening the University's position on the international research arena.

     

    The seminar was held under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Al-Saghir Mohammed, vice dean for graduate studies and Research Affairs, and in the presence of Dr. Adel Ali Tamam, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Bahi Ragheb Bakhit, chairman of the ethics subcommittee at the college, with the participation of several faculty members, the adjunct faculty and graduate students.

     

    In his speech, Dr. Jamal Badr Mohammed stressed Assiut University's keenness to support graduate students and raise their awareness of the ethics of scientific research through organizing a series of seminars and educational events, stressing the need for researchers to be familiar with the laws and regulations governing research work, and their commitment to the standards of integrity and scientific accuracy. He also praised the prominent role played by the scientific committee for scientific research at the University in upgrading the research system.

     

    Dr. Adel Mohamed Mahmoud stressed the college's keenness to promote scientific research ethics among students, instill the values of honesty and respect for intellectual property rights, commitment to sound scientific methodology, and encourage a culture of constructive criticism and serious research in addressing scientific issues.

     

    The seminar witnessed the presentation of four specialized lectures, the first of which was entitled "The role of the scientific research ethics committee", presented by Dr. Bahi Ragheb Bakhit, chairman of the ethics subcommittee at the Faculty of Agriculture. The second lecture dealt with" mechanisms of applying ethical standards in scientific research", presented by Dr. Adel Rabie Ahmed Osman, Professor at the Department of Land and Water. The third lecture was entitled "The concept of scientific research and the principles and ethics of research", presented by Dr. Abdul Monsif Mohammed, assistant professor at the Department of Genetics. The seminar concluded with a lecture by Dr. Asma Hosni Mohamed Munib, assistant professor at the dairy department, entitled "The ethics of martyrdom in scientific research".

  • Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, opened today, Tuesday, May 6, the seventh annual Student Exhibition of the decoration department, and the second for the architecture department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Helmy Hefnawy, dean of the faculty, and Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hakim, vice dean for education and student affairs, in the presence of Dr. Ghada Al-Naggar, head of the decoration department, Dr. Mohsen Salim, head of the sculpture department, Dr. Samir Hamda, director of the Egyptian General Authority for tourism.

     

    The exhibition included about 50 Diverse Works of art, reflecting the outcome of the educational process and the curricula of the two departments, where students presented outstanding models of innovative design solutions combining artistic vision and academic applications.

     

    During his tour, Dr. El-Minshawy expressed his great admiration for the quality of the projects, praising the students' creativity and innovation and the efforts exerted by the faculty members in guiding and supporting their students to achieve a high level of innovation.

     

     The president of the University stressed the importance of student exhibitions in developing artistic skills and refining talents, and preparing a generation capable of excellence in the fields of art and architecture, praising the vital role played by the faculty in enriching cultural and artistic life inside and outside the University.

     

    Dr. El-Minshawy pointed out that the spirit of teamwork characterized by the presented projects is a key element in achieving success in the labor market because it enhances cooperation, exchanges experiences, and develops communication skills.

     

    On his side, Dr. Mohammed Helmy El-Hefnawy explained that the projects of the students of the Department of Architecture varied between architectural designs, study areas related to design and construction, history, and theories of architecture, stressing the keenness of the department to integrate architectural aesthetics and practical functions.

     

    Dr. Ghada Al-Najjar also reviewed the most prominent features of the decoration department students ' projects, which included interior designs, expressive works for theatrical and cinematic projects, costumes and Marionette dolls, as well as the projects of the "furnishing models" material, which reflected an in-depth understanding of the history of furniture and employing it in a contemporary style that serves the design vision, as well as shaping works that showed advanced visual awareness of basic design concepts.

     

    The exhibition was held under the supervision of a selection of faculty members in the Departments of decoration and architecture, including: Dr. Rasha Mazen, Dr. Amal Abdel Warath, Dr. Rabab Heshmat, Dr. Randa Osama, Dr. Shatha Magdy, Dr. Nevin Ashraf, with the active participation of their assistance.

     

    At the end of the events, Dr. Ahmed Al-Manshawy was honored in recognition of his continuous support for student activities and his keenness to provide an educational and artistic environment that stimulates creativity and excellence.

      Assiut National University organized, on Tuesday, May 6, an awareness lecture under the title: "Building Bridges of communication between cultures in a changing world.. Towards more cooperation", under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and Commissioner for conducting the work of the private university, and under the supervision of Dr. Nobi Mohammed Hassan, vice president of Assiut University for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Rehab Al-Dakhli, head of the media department at the Faculty of Arts and media advisor to the president of Assiut University, and coordinator of the seminar.

     

      The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Gaby Samaan, professor of intercultural communication at the American University of Toledo, and one of the prominent academic figures in the field of media and cultural studies.

     

      The event was attended by a number of program coordinators and faculty members, Mr. Mustafa Hassan, secretary general of Al-Ahlia University, Dr. Shirin Abdel Ghaffar, coordinator of student activities, Dr. Arwa Nobi Mohammed, Assistant Lecturer at the media department and Fulbright scholar, and a number of students.

    The head of the media department at the Faculty of Arts added that the university is hosting Dr. Gaby Samaan, one of the most prominent academics in the field of Intercultural Communication, who holds the position of Professor of intercultural communication, director of Middle Eastern Studies, and coordinator of the Arabic language program at the Faculty of Arts at the American University of Toledo.     For his side, Dr. Gaby Samaan stressed that intercultural communication is the cornerstone of understanding the other and rapprochement between peoples, especially in a changing world where the need to build bridges of mutual understanding and cooperation is increasing. In this context, it was suggested to include an academic course specialized in "intercultural communication", because of its great impact in preparing a generation of students capable of interacting consciously and efficiently in multicultural environments.

     

    In his lecture, he also addressed the most important factors that affect the process of communication between individuals, especially cultural and environmental factors, explaining the importance of awareness of these elements to ensure the effectiveness of dialogue.

     

    Dr. Gaby Samaan concluded the lecture by presenting a set of practical recommendations and guidelines that contribute to enhancing cultural understanding, such as adopting attitudes based on listening and asking instead of assuming, careful observation, and openness to cultural exchange programs, foremost of which is the "Fulbright" program, stressing that building bridges between cultures is the way to enhance global cooperation and achieve joint human coexistence.

     

    Dr. Arwa Nobi explained that she benefited greatly from the Fulbright Scholarship, which provided her with a valuable opportunity to delve into scientific research and open up to international academic experiences. She expressed her deep appreciation to Dr. Gaby Samaan, who took over the academic supervision of her doctoral thesis within the program, noting that his scientific support and extensive experience had a great impact on enriching her research experience.

  • Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and chairman of the Standing Committee for public mobilization and military production, chaired the committee meeting held today, Tuesday, May 6, to discuss the procedures for preparing the University's plan in the field of Public Mobilization, disasters and crises for the academic year 2025/2026. The meeting witnessed the review of the comprehensive inventory of the material and human potential available at the University, in preparation for its activation as of July 1, 2025.

     

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stressed the keenness of the university administration to make the best use of the available material and human resources, and continuous work on their development to ensure their sustainability, within the framework of the general orientation of the Egyptian state towards the development of education and upgrading the various components of the educational system. He also explained that this interest is a fundamental pillar of the University's developmental and societal role towards its surrounding community, and the advancement of all its educational, health, and cultural services.

     

    The president of the University praised the role of the General Administration of Information Systems and digital transformation for providing data, figures and statistics that help to make the right decisions, stressing the University's keenness to strengthen cooperation with the central agency for public mobilization and statistics to optimize the use of available resources and update all data and statistics related to the University's capabilities in the interest of the educational process.

     

    Mr. Shaukat saber explained that the meeting discussed the procedures for preparing the general mobilization plan for the next year 2025/ 2026, which includes the inventory of the University's material and human resources, in addition to the inventory of university hospitals including clinics, laboratories, units, medical centers, medical devices and equipment.

     

    The meeting was attended by several committee members, including: Dr. Alaa Abdel Hafiz, dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Hassan Hawil, dean of the Faculty of education, Mr. Shawkat Saber, secretary general of the University, assistant secretaries of the University, Mr. Osama Al-Sayed, Mr. Ayman Ahmed Shehata, Dr. Buthaina Mohammed Al-Fatih, Dr. Mustafa Morsi, director general of Information Systems and digital transformation, Mr. Ahmed Omar Mohammed, director of the branch of the central agency for public mobilization and statistics in Assiut, and Ms. Hala Ahmed Talaat, director of the Statistics Department.

  • Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stressed the University's keenness to carry out regular maintenance and continuous development of all vital facilities within the campus, as part of its endeavor to provide an integrated and stimulating university environment. He explained that the Olympic Village is receiving special attention, due to its prominent role as one of the most important sports and recreational facilities that contribute to support the sports and psychological side of students, and also provides its services to all the people of Assiut Governorate.

     

    In this context, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and student affairs, followed up on the ongoing development work at the Olympic Village during an inspection tour accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Salah Qora'a, general supervisor of the village, and a number of its employees.

     

    The tour included an inspection of the covered Hall (1) of the village Stadium and several rooms attached to it, to determine the progress in maintenance and development works.

     

    During the visit, Dr. Abdulmoula stressed the importance of completion of the works, in preparation for the opening of the hall in conjunction with the start of the summer activities season, where the hall is expected to receive the village's visitors to practice a number of team games such as basketball, handball, and volleyball.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, governor of Assiut, opened today, Tuesday, May, the works of the art exhibition organized by the Faculty of specific education, within the framework of the activities of the competition for the best design and branding of food outlets on the main streets and squares inside Assiut Governorate," under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Yasmin Al-kahki, dean of the Faculty of specific education.

     

    The exhibition presented a creative and innovative product for the students of the Faculty of specific education, which reflected the cultural identity of Assiut Governorate, taking into account sustainability and the use of environmentally friendly materials, through 7 student groups, in total 29 male and female students, where each group participated in the implementation of a model model (maquette), designing a logo for the outlet, and presenting a plan explaining the design idea.

     

     The exhibition was opened by Dr. Wajdi Refaat, former dean of the Faculty of specific education, and Mr. Salah Al-Sakra, chairman of the board of Directors of the Middle East Investment Group, members of the board of directors, several department heads, faculty members, members of the administrative staff of the Faculty of specific education, leaders, undersecretaries of the ministry in the governorate, and students of the faculty.

     

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, welcomed the guests of the university, expressing his happiness to participate in the opening of the exhibition, and praised the real complementarities between the University and Assiut Governorate under the leadership of Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr. He also praised his outstanding role in supporting development projects and cultural development, and his keenness to provide a stimulating atmosphere that allows university students to contribute their creative ideas to community service and the development of the local environment.

     

    The president of the university also extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to all the participants in organizing this competition and directing this exhibition in an honorable way, especially the administration of the Faculty of Specific Education for their great effort in supporting students and encouraging them to unleash their artistic and creative energies.

     

    Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that the innovative ideas and designs presented by the students today are clear proof of the awareness of our youth and their ability to contribute to the development of the urban environment through high-end artistic and practical means. He also congratulated the winners of the competition, praising all the participants for their creations that deserve every appreciation, and wishing them continued success and brilliance.

     

    At the beginning of his speech, Major General Hisham Abu Al-Nasser praised the efforts of the Egyptian state led by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in supporting young people and investing their creative energies, and creating the necessary environment that allows them to innovate and actively participate in building the New Republic, valuing the constructive cooperation between the governorate and Assiut University as one of the Houses of scientific and research expertise, and supportive of community service.

     

    The governor of Assiut expressed his great admiration for the innovative designs and creative ideas presented by the Faculty of specific education, directing coordination between the concerned authorities to take advantage of these designs to implement them in the form of commercial projects that will contribute to the development of the cultural form in the governorate, and decorate the route of the Holy Family's journey path, to become an honorable interface for visitors.    

     

    For her part, Dr. Yasmin Al-Kahki explained that the competition represents a real platform for creativity, and an opportunity to present modern design models that take into account the local identity and meet the needs of citizens, reflecting the spirit of development and belonging to the homeland. She also pointed out that the competition aimed to support student projects by providing an organized and attractive work environment, taking into account the requirements of hygiene, safety, and public health, and highlighting the spirit of innovation and creativity.

     

    The dean of the Faculty of Specific Education added that Assiut Governorate, with its human potential and scientific and technical potential, represents a fertile environment for the adoption of creative ideas and development projects, especially in light of the integration of efforts between state institutions, universities, and the private sector. This was reflected by this distinctive initiative, which provided the opportunity for college students to provide the best of their ideas and talents to design a role model at the level of the Republic.

     

    In a related context, Mr. Salah Al-Sakri expressed the pride of the Middle East Investment Group to participate in the activities of this creative competition, which came as a result of purposeful cooperation between the University and the governorate with a conscious academic and community vision and a supervised implementation from the Faculty of specific education, stressing that supporting young people and developing their creativity is one of the company's top priorities within the framework of Social Responsibility, and continuing to support youth initiatives.

     

    The events of the exhibition included the announcement of the winning projects for the first places, namely: the first place is my group (floka-Z.BLEND ) and a prize money of 40 thousand pounds half, the second place is my group (KOVA - SOT Mart), a prize of 30 thousand pounds half, the third place is my group ( ROKN 18 - Navia), a prize of 20 thousand pounds half, and the fourth place is the group (Forsa) with a prize of 10 thousands of pounds.

     

    The jury of the projects was composed of: Dr. Yasmin Al-Kahki, dean of the Faculty of Specific Education; Dr. Hala Salah Al-Din, head of the art education department; and Dr. Walid Rajai, woodwork teacher at the art education department. Engineer Mohammed Al-Sukra, executive director of the Middle East Investment Group, and consultant Mohammed Merhi, legal adviser to the group, also contributed to the arbitration externally.

     

    The project supervision committee included: Dr. Saeed Mustafa, assistant professor of art works at the Department of Art Education, Dr. Haitham Abdul Rahim, woodworking teacher at the Department of Art Education, Dr. Saad Hassan, teacher at the Department of educational technology, and Ahmed Mukhtar, teaching assistant at the Department of education technology.

     

    At the end of the exhibition, the judges of the competition, the student supervisors, and the organizing committee of the exhibition were honored, in addition to honoring Mr. Salah Al-Sukary, chairman of the Middle East Investment Group.

  • Within the framework of joint scientific and research cooperation, and out of Assiut University's keenness to strengthen international partnerships and openness to international academic institutions, the university is organizing an awareness lecture tomorrow, Tuesday, May 6, 2025 under the title:

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, opened today, Monday, May, the events of the introductory and awareness-raising meeting organized by the University in cooperation with the Fulbright Commission, in the presence of the commission's delegation headed by Dr. Maggie Nassif, executive director of the Fulbright Commission Egypt, and Dr. Gaby Samaan, professor of intercultural communication at the University of Toledo, under the supervision of Dr. Gamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research.

     

    The meeting included an introductory seminar delivered by Dr. Maggie Nassif, on "grants and opportunities provided by the Fulbright Commission", with the participation of Ms. Batool Khalid, program officer, and Mr. ASER Hani, assistant director of programs. Dr. Gaby Samaan also presented a lecture entitled "Building Bridges of Communication between Cultures in a Changing World: Towards More Cooperation".

     

    In his speech during the opening ceremony, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his great welcome to the delegation of the Fulbright Commission, praising the role of the commission in supporting aspects of academic and cultural cooperation between Egypt and the United States of America, and promoting the principles of understanding and integration between peoples, especially in light of accelerated global changes.

     

    The president of the University stressed the pride of Assiut University in the extended relationship with the Fulbright Commission, which represents a distinctive model of fruitful cooperation in the fields of higher education and scientific research, pointing out that the commission's programs provide excellent opportunities for researchers, faculty members, and students to exchange experiences and engage in advanced scientific and research environments.

     

    He added that these events come within the University's orientation towards expanding its academic partnerships internationally and building bridges of cooperation with prestigious institutions, which contributes to the development of academic programs and achieving advanced positions in global rankings.

     

     The president of Assiut University stressed the importance of cultural meetings that support internationalization and academic reference, and support the Egyptian state Vision 2030 and Development Goals،

     

    Dr. El-Minshawy concluded his speech, saying: "In every communication with others, we have to respect their culture and improve the representation of our country, the dialogue between cultures begins with respect and grows with understanding and openness ."

     

      For her side, Dr. Maggie Nassif expressed her thanks to Assiut University and its administration for the fruitful cooperation with the authority, praising the leading role of the University in benefiting from the authority's grants since its establishment, which helped to expand the scope of academic cooperation and cultural openness.

     

    Nasif explained that the Fulbright Commission is an Egyptian-American institution established under a cooperation protocol between the Egyptian and American Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and works under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the framework of supporting innovation and cultural exchange and preparing young cadres for the labor market.

     

    She reviewed the progress of the commission and its programs aimed at promoting joint learning and knowledge exchange between peoples, noting the success of the joint scientific supervision program, from which researcher Arwa Nobi graduated as the first PhD holder from the Commission, expressing her aspiration for further joint cooperation in the future.

     

    Ms. Batoul Khaled presented the Fulbright programs offered to Egyptian researchers, which include master's, doctoral, scientific research, Islamic studies, technical and professional grants, in addition to training programs for English teachers, explaining the application mechanisms, dates, and required conditions.

     

    Mr. Aser Hani also discussed the programs offered to Americans, such as the American Student Program, the American Researcher, and the specialized program, explaining the steps and procedures of application and selection criteria, in addition to the official platforms that provide detailed information for those wishing to register.

     

    During his awareness lecture, Dr. Gaby Simaan addressed the importance of intercultural communication as one of the vital areas to enhance international cooperation, pointing to the role of this specialization in changing stereotypes, opening up to diverse traditions, and building more inclusive societies.

     

    Dr. Samaan reviewed the development of this field since its inception after the Second World War, stressing that the efficiency of communication requires cultural awareness and appropriate behavior, calling for investing this specialization in promoting mutual understanding between peoples and the exchange of knowledge and experiences at various levels.

     

    At the end of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy presented the Shield of Assiut University to Dr. Maggie Nassif and Dr. Gaby Samaan, in appreciation of the constructive academic cooperation with the Fulbright Commission, and support to enhance opportunities for joint scientific and cultural cooperation in the future.

  • Assiut University witnessed, on Sunday, May 4, 2025, the launch of the activities of the third session of the "employment and self-employment forum", which was organized by the Faculty of Computers and Information in cooperation with the branch of the Institute of Information Technology in Assiut, affiliated with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, university president, and the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Heba Saleh, president of the Institute of Information Technology, and Dr. Tayseer Hassan Abdul Hamid, dean of the College of computers and information.

     

    The events were attended by Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim, vice president of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, along with several faculty members, a selection of experts, developers, and specialists in the fields of technology, and representatives of 22 local and international companies operating in the sector, which provided more than 250 job opportunities and training for university graduates.

     

    The forum was held under the supervision of Professor Dr. Khaled Fathi Abdul Aziz, vice dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information for Education and Student Affairs, and engineer Ayman Ayad, director of the branch of the Institute of Information Technology in Assiut.

     

     Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the forum is an important interactive platform that enables students and graduates to communicate directly with employment institutions and learn about the realistic requirements of the labor market in various fields of modern technology, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analysis, and digitization. He explained that the University seeks to support the culture of self-employment, promote entrepreneurship thought in line with national trends of digital transformation, and empower young people in the fields of advanced technology.

     

    For his side, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim explained that the forum embodies the University's vision of preparing qualified cadres capable of competing in the labor market, and reflects the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research in strengthening the link between academic institutions and the labor market and providing real opportunities for Egyptian youth.

     

    Dr. Jamal Badr toured the exhibition of companies participating in the forum, which included 22 technological companies, that provided more than 250 job opportunities and training for university graduates, praising the level of fruitful cooperation between the University and those companies, reflecting the business community's confidence in the quality of Education outputs at the University.

     

     Dr. Tayseer Hassan Abdul Hamid expressed her pride in the students of the Faculty of Computers and Information, stressing that they represent the most prominent beneficiaries of this type of partnership, because of their efficiency and excellence, which enabled them to prove themselves in major international institutions, wishing them further success and progress.

     

    Dr. Khalid Fathi Abdul Aziz pointed out that the forum is a golden opportunity to develop students ' technical and professional skills and enhance their ability to actively engage in the labor market through interaction with leading technology companies.

     

    In his speech, engineer Ayman Ayad conveyed the greetings of Dr. Heba Saleh, president of the Institute of Information Technology, to the administration of Assiut University, praising the partnership that began since 2007 when the University hosted the headquarters of the Institute, which started with only 100 trainees, and today reached more than 5,000 training grants annually, stressing that the institute is not limited in its support on the technological side, but is keen to develop comprehensive skills qualified for the labor market.

     

    Engineer Hossam Megahed, chairman of the board of Directors of the association "Elites NGO", stressed that the ICT sector in Egypt is facing a challenge represented by the lack of qualified cadres, in exchange for the availability of a large number of young people looking for job opportunities, stressing that the best solution is to develop technological skills for young people, especially in Upper Egypt governorates, through effective partnerships such as cooperation between Assiut University and the Institute of Information Technology.

     

    The opening of the forum witnessed the presentation of a documentary film highlighting the aspects of cooperation between the Institute of Information Technology and the College of Computers and Information, a review of the most important activities of the Institute and its services provided to students, as well as a video of a number of graduates of the college and the Institute who joined the labor market in major companies.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, opened on Sunday, May 4, the exhibition of graduation projects for final-year students at the Faculty of computers and Information Technology, and students of the Information Technology Institute in Assiut ITI, which was organized by the Faculty of computers and information as part of the activities of the "employment and self-employment forum" in its third edition, in cooperation with the branch of the Information Technology Institute in Assiut.

     

    The president of the university was accompanied on his tour during the exhibition by: Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research, Dr. Tayseer Hassan Abdul Hamid, dean of the Faculty of computers and Information, Dr. Khaled Fathy, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Engineer Ayman Ayad, director of the Institute branch in Assiut, and Mr. Ihab Abdul Hamid, director of the medium, small and Micro Enterprise Development Authority, with the participation of a number of faculty members, students, and a number of developers and technicians from various technological companies.

     

    During the opening ceremony, Dr. El-Minshawy expressed his appreciation and admiration for the creative and innovative scientific production provided by the students through their projects, which reflected the level of development and outstanding training enjoyed by the University's students and graduates, calling on them to continue to develop their ideas, seek to apply them and compete regionally and globally. 

     

    Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University is constantly keen on qualifying promising university youth to keep up with the requirements of the labor market and the latest technology, praising the unlimited creativity of its students and the ability to keep up with the latest technological and technical education in various fields of science.

     

    During his tour of the exhibition, the president of the University praised the extent to which students were able to explore and apply artificial intelligence technologies in their ideas and projects, which keeps pace with the strengthening of the University's management of all modern applied and technological fields in various sectors, wishing them a bright future and continuous success in all fields of technology and its applications.

     

    The projects of the students of the Faculty of computers and information included a lot of creative ideas, which numbered (16) a project, during which the students relied on employing the latest artificial intelligence applications and technologies in various scientific fields and knowledge, including; applications and websites for educational games, Smart networks, electronic exam monitoring systems, a website to facilitate learning, a surveillance camera equipped with the latest technologies, as well as a mobile application to find lost items, and another application for recipes and diets.

     

    The projects also included the "Rahala" platform, which is an integrated tourism platform on the web and mobile, the "Nabta" application in the agricultural field, as well as a desktop application with a computer to measure glycines and diagnose diseases, the "business" website for data analysis, a mobile application to identify skin diseases, burns and necessary first aid, a digital website for managing the fleet of Assiut University cars, in addition to a medical mobile website and application to identify the nearest pharmacy and doctors ' consultant, as well as a smart watch that determines the health status of the child according to his health history.

     

    As for the projects of ITI students, they were participated by 10 students, submitted about 400 an idea and an innovative project that they worked on and implemented during their years of study in the fields of; Free Lance freelance jobs, website building and design, open source applications, digital marketing, and website development.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, received on Sunday, May 4, Dr. Maggie Nassif, executive director of the Fulbright Commission Egypt, as part of the visit of the commission's delegation to the University, to discuss ways of joint academic and research cooperation, in the presence of Dr. Gamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research, and Dr. Gaby Samaan, professor of cross-cultural communication at the American University of Toledo.

     

    The meeting witnessed the presence of several members of the supervision and discussion Committee on the first doctoral thesis within the joint supervision grant provided by the Fulbright Commission, Media Department, Assiut University, specialization (radio and television), they are: Dr. Saber Suleiman Asran, professor of radio and television at the Faculty of media, Cairo University, Dr. Gaby Samaan, professor of cross-cultural communication at the University of Toledo, Dr. Fatima Zahra Saleh, head of the media department at Sohag University, Dr. Rehab Eldakhli, media advisor of the president of Assiut University, Dr. Yomna Atef, assistant professor at media department, faculty of Arts, along with researcher Arwa Nobi, assistant lecturer at the media department at the Faculty of Arts and a Fulbright grant recipient.

     

    The meeting discussed the prospects of cooperation between Assiut University and the Fulbright Commission, reviewed the commission's programs and scholarships offered to study in the United States of America, and discussed mechanisms to support institutional capacities and exchange academic experiences.

     

    At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his appreciation for the prominent role played by the Fulbright Commission in supporting researchers, praising its efforts in providing scientific opportunities that contribute to the development of academic competencies by international standards. He stressed Assiut University's keenness to expand the frameworks of international cooperation, which contributes to strengthening its position at the local and global levels.

     

    Dr. El-Minshawy also pointed to the advanced scientific, research, and service potential of Assiut University, as well as an Integrated Medical City, which is the largest at the level of Egyptian universities, and provides its services to Upper Egypt governorates and others, stressing at the same time the Egyptian state's interest in establishing private universities, including Assiut private university, as an advanced educational institution that responds to the requirements of the labor market, through qualitative specialties that keep pace with the trends of the New Republic and support the Sustainable Development Goals.

     

    For her side, Dr. Maggie Nassif expressed her appreciation to Assiut University, describing it as one of the leading universities in Egypt for its geographical location and strong academic and research potential. She expressed her happiness that her visit to the university coincided with the Fulbright Commission's celebration of the 75th anniversary of its establishment. She also stressed the authority's readiness to expand the areas of cooperation with the University and support researchers and educational institutions, especially in Upper Egypt.

     

    In the same context, Dr. Saber Suleiman Asran, professor of radio and television at the Faculty of Media at Cairo University, praised the media department at the Faculty of Arts at Assiut University as one of the most active and distinguished departments among regional universities and is witnessing tangible development at the academic and research levels, reflecting the University's interest in qualitative disciplines in Upper Egypt.

     

    Dr. Gaby Samaan also expressed his happiness to visit Assiut University, pointing out that it represents a successful model in academic interaction and exchange of experiences, and is one of the ancient universities in Egypt.

     

    The meeting also witnessed the presence of Mr. Mohammed Adel, representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the Fulbright Commission delegation, which included several commission officials and representatives, namely: Mr. ASER Hani, assistant director of programs, Ms. Batul Khaled, Program Officer, Mr. Ramez Hani, Senior Operations Officer, Ms. Mary Attia, Assistant Program Officer, Mr. Marvin Ramzy, marketing consultant at the commission, as well as interns at the Commission: Mr. Peter Salib, Mr. Marwan Akl.

  • Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and Student Affairs, received Dr. Khalid Bin Al-Waleed Abdel Fattah, an expert at the Excellence Support Department of the Higher Education Development Projects Management Unit at the Ministry of higher education and scientific research, on an official visit to review and receive the funded student project entitled "innovating a way to develop the teaching of histology and cytology", which the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine received funding of 70 thousand pounds from the ministry in 2022 for its implementation.

     

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his appreciation for the vital role played by the Ministry of Higher Education in supporting students ' innovative ideas, turning them into realistic projects that serve the educational process, contribute to the development of the quality of education at public universities in line with international standards, and enhance the competitiveness of Higher Education outputs.

     

    The meeting was attended by Dr. Madiha Darwish, dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Project Manager, Dr. Inas Abdel Hafez, vice dean for graduate studies and Research Affairs and executive director of the project, Dr. Manal Tawfiq Hussein, project advisor, as well as Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Nasser, director of the project management unit at the University.

     

    Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and Student Affairs, stressed that the project aims to design three-dimensional models that help students understand and absorb the tissue structures of various body systems at a low cost and simple capabilities, pointing out that the team provided innovative educational models for various organs of the body such as the eye, tongue, stomach, and nerve cell, and have already been integrated into the educational process as effective alternatives to expensive imported models.

     

    For his side, Dr. Khalid bin Alwaleed Abdel Fattah praised the level of output achieved within the project, praising the efforts of faculty members and students of the college, stressing that what was presented reflects the excellence of Assiut University at the academic and Research Levels.

     

    The implementation of the project was supervised by Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Alameddine, Maida Nurhan Mamdouh as the Executive Supervisor of the students, and the executive team included 13 students, namely: Roland Mohamed Hosny (project manager), Asma Hamada (deputy project manager), and team members: Israa Mohamed Sami, Mayada Mohamed Khalaf, Manar Mahmoud, Tabarak Ibrahim, Zahra Ahmed, jihad Ashraf, hind Mohamed Mahmoud, Mohamed Jaber, Noureddine Thabet, Martin Maher, and Michael Mehdi.
