Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, Acting President of Assiut University, declared that the university encourages youth to actively participate in all student activities as well as the educational process to discover their skills and creative abilities and refine their personalities. He said that such support plays a vital role in graduating a student capable of taking responsibility. Moreover, the president added that such students will be the link between the rest of the students and the university administration. He also explained role of the university administration in caring for student unions, which reflects the interest of the government in providing opportunities for students to participate in building their country.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, revealed that the final list includes 99 male and female students from the various faculties of the university. The number of male students exceeds female students, as the number of male students applying for the elections is 65 while the female students is 34. The list includes 21 students enrolled in the Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence, 14 students enrolled in the faculties of Dentistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, and Science. Moreover, the list includes 13 students enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine, and only 9 students were nominated in the Faculty of Al-Alsun.
