Assiut University launches a blood donation campaign under the slogan: "I am an Egyptian donor.. I am a permanent donor " to support the strategic inventory and consolidate the culture of volunteer work

Dr. El-Minshawy: the blood donation campaign embodies the values of giving and responsibility and emphasizes the awareness of university students of their social role

  Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the Egyptian Union of students of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Assiut University epsf-Asiut organized a blood donation campaign under the slogan "I am an Egyptian donor.. I am a permanent donor, " during the period from April 6 to 8, within the framework of the implementation of Egypt's Vision 2030 towards achieving self-sufficiency of blood bags, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Jehan Nabil Fattah, dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. Hassan Refaat, vice dean for education and student affairs.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the campaign aims to support the strategic stock of blood in hospitals, as well as to promote awareness of the importance of blood donation as a noble humanitarian act that contributes to saving the lives of patients and injured, and to establish a culture of voluntary work and community solidarity among members of the university community.

Dr. El-Minshawy praised the efforts exerted by the Egyptian Union of Pharmacy students in organizing the campaign, pointing out that these initiatives reflect students ' awareness of their social and humanitarian role, and embody the values of giving and responsibility, and also called for continuing to organize such campaigns that have a positive impact on community service.

For her side, Dr. Jehan Nabil Fateh explained that the campaign witnessed a great turnout from the University's employees from various faculties, noting that it was not limited to collecting blood bags, but also included providing awareness services to donors and the general public about the benefits of blood donation and the importance of regular donation.

In the same context, Dr. Hassan Refaat pointed out that the campaign succeeded in collecting about 150 blood bags, which will be distributed to the blood bank at the main university hospital, the South Egypt Institute of oncology, and the Regional Blood Bank, which contributes to meeting part of the needs of patients. He also pointed out that the campaign managed to raise awareness of nearly 2,500 individuals within the university about the importance of blood donation and its great humanitarian impact.
