Assiut University offers condolences on the death of Pope Francis in the Coptic Catholic Archdiocese

As part of its keenness to promote the spirit of brotherhood and national unity, Assiut University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, the president of the University, participated in the presentation of the duty of condolence on the death of Pope Francis, the pope of the Catholic Church, in the "heavenly" Hall of the Coptic Catholic Archdiocese of Assiut.

On behalf of Assiut University, Dr. Ahmed Abdelmoula, vice president for education and student affairs, offered his condolences during his visit to the Coptic Catholic Archdiocese, where he was received by His Eminence Anba Daniel Lotfi, the Coptic Catholic Archbishop of Assiut, and several fathers, priests, monks, and nuns.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, governor of Assiut, Dr. Mina Emad, Deputy Governor, Dr. Marwa Kadwani, rapporteur of the National Council for women in Assiut, Dr. Ahmed Sharit, undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance in Assiut, as well as a number of faculty members and administrative leaders at the University, and leaders of Assiut Governorate from various sectors.

Dr. Ahmed Al-manshawi, president of the University, expressed his sincere condolences and sincere condolences to the people of Egypt and to the Coptic Catholic brothers in this great affliction, stressing that Pope Francis was a global symbol of peace and tolerance, and devoted his life to promoting interreligious dialogue and spreading the values of love and cooperation between peoples.

  Dr. Ahmed Abdul Mawla praised the leading role played by Pope Francis in promoting the values of justice and mercy, stressing that his legacy will remain alive in the hearts of people.

At the end of the meeting, His Eminence Bishop Daniel expressed his gratitude for this kind humanitarian gesture, praising the spirit of love and brotherhood that unites the Sons of the homeland, stressing the depth of relations linking the various spectrums of Egyptian society.
