As part of its pioneering role as the first Egyptian university to be established in Upper Egypt, Assiut University continues to strengthen its position as a scientific and community beacon, through its specialized colleges and institutes that meet the needs of comprehensive development and keep pace with the developments of the Times.
Assiut University has 19 faculties that include the specialties of Medicine, Engineering, Science, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Law, commerce, arts, education, specific education, sports sciences, social work, dentistry, nursing, Fine Arts, computers and information, early childhood education, in addition to the Faculty of technology and sugar industry, which has been developed to become the first Faculty of its kind in Egypt.
The university also includes a number of Advanced Research and scientific institutes, including the Technical Institute of nursing, the South Egypt Institute of Oncology, the Institute of molecular biology research and studies, the Research Institute of drug development and innovation, and the Institute of materials science and nanotechnology, which reflects the strategic orientation of the university towards applied scientific research aimed at solving society's problems.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stated that the university is proud of its historical leadership and its pivotal role in serving Upper Egypt and all of Egypt, and we have paid great attention to the diversity of academic programs to graduate qualified cadres in various disciplines, and linking university education to the needs of the labor market and developmental challenges. The faculties and institutes of the University come as an honorable interface reflecting this trend, with their modern programs, advanced infrastructure, and Distinguished Teaching and research cadres.
The president of the University added that the university is continuously working on developing its faculties and programs, in accordance with quality and accreditation standards, focusing on supporting digital transformation, encouraging scientific research, and serving the local and regional community.
Dr. El-Minshawy added that the university is witnessing an increasing demand from students from various Arab and African countries, because of its prestigious academic reputation, an attractive educational environment, and Advanced Study programs that meet the aspirations of students at the regional and international levels.
