A special scientific activity at the Faculty of Engineering at Assiut University within the activities of the "children's university" program
- Dr. El-Minshawy: Assiut University continues its community mission by building early scientific awareness and stimulating creativity skills among children
The Faculty of Engineering at Assiut University witnessed the organization of a distinctive scientific activity within the activities of the "University of the child" program, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, who stressed the University's keenness to consolidate its societal mission, through instilling the values of research and discovery in children, and developing their scientific and creative skills, reflecting the University's vision towards investing in minds and establishing generations capable of leading the future.
The activity comes within the framework of the combined Phase (VI and VIII) of the E1-level program, which is implemented by the University in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, headed by Dr. Gina Elfeki, the general supervisor of the program and head of the Central Department of Strategic Programs at the Academy.
The University's activities are supervised by Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research, Dr. Yara Ibrahim, program coordinator and dean of the faculty of Early Childhood Education, Dr. Manal Anwar, vice dean for graduate studies, and Dr. Ayat Farouk Hussein, deputy coordinator of the children's University.
The faculty of Engineering hosted an important aspect of the scientific program, in a field visit for children to the college, under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Salah, dean of the college, and with the participation of: Dr. Mohammed Safwat, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Gamal Abdel Nasser, coordinator of the visit, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sharif, head of mechanical design and Production Engineering Department, Dr. Omar Salah Al-Din, head of Mechatronics Engineering Department, Dr. Osman Omran, head of mechanical forces engineering department
The visit witnessed a great interaction of children who underwent a rich scientific exploratory experiment, where they got acquainted with the principles and basics of several engineering disciplines, through an educational tour that included the use of three-dimensional printing technology (3D Printer), the implementation of computer designs using a laser machine (CO2 Laser), a simplified understanding of the concepts of harmonics, robotics, mechanics, Newton's laws and Hooke's law, electronics, and ended with making a miniature car with their own hands in an innovative way.
The children were trained by elite members of the Faculty of Engineering, who presented scientific models and attractive practical applications, namely: engineer Hani Mustafa, engineer Ahmed Nasser Ahmed, engineer hind Abdel Hafez, engineer Abrar Mahrous Mohammed, Mr. Mahmoud Amir Abdul Hamid, Mr. Sayed Khader Khalaf, Mr. Mahmoud Faraj, Mr. Mahmoud Shawkat, Mr. Ahmed Hisham, Mr. Badri Hussein, and Mr. Mustafa Ahmed.
The children expressed their overwhelming happiness to participate in this activity, amid an atmosphere of enthusiasm and positive interaction, which helped to consolidate the love of Science in their souls and sparked their passion for innovation and creative thinking.
