Sponsored by Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University... Faculty of engineering workshops are a leading model for Applied education and sustainable production
Within the framework of Assiut University's interest in linking university education with practical reality, the Faculty of engineering workshops come as an integrated model that embodies this trend and enhances the University's role in supporting the circular economy and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Salah, dean of the college.
The workshops include a group of specialized units that provide a balanced mix between the educational and applied side, where the blacksmithing and carpentry workshops are among the most prominent of those units, as they contribute to the manufacture of University furniture and renovation, to meet the needs of different colleges and departments within the University.
The Digital Fabrication Laboratory (CNC) also stands out as one of the most important components of the workshops, as it allows students to implement precise mechanical designs using computer digital control techniques, which enhances their practical skills and opens up wider horizons for them in the labor market.
The workshops also include units for the maintenance of various devices, the renovation of seats and tables, as well as a specialized unit in the manufacture of models and engineering models that serve student and research projects, which reflects the integration of academic infrastructure and technical support directed to the educational process.
The workshop services go beyond the University's borders, where manufacturing works are provided for the benefit of a number of industrial institutions and bodies, which strengthens the concept of community integration and highlights the developmental role played by the University in serving the local community.
Through these workshops, the Faculty of engineering continues to consolidate its vision aimed at developing the capabilities of its students, supporting the local economy, and enhancing the spirit of innovation and production within an integrated educational environment
