Complaints Box:

Establishing a mechanism for examining the complaints and proposals of postgraduate students at the Faculty of Science, Assiut University.

In its session held on 01/23/2011, the faculty board approved the establishment of a mechanism to review the complaints and proposals of graduate students, through the following:

  • Establishing a box to receive complaints and proposals from teaching assistant and graduate students to review and discuss their complaints. In addition to creating an email (Drasatoliaa@yahoo.com) to receive any suggestions or complaints, suggestions, and views regarding the progress of the educational process. This box is located in front of the Graduate Studies Administration Office of the faculty’s administrative building.

Registration Conditions:

First: Postgraduate diplomas "Faculty Bylaw for the year 1994"    

  • To enroll in any of the postgraduate diplomas, the student must have a bachelor’s degree in science from the single major or dual major for the diploma major from an Egyptian university or an equivalent degree from another recognized scientific institute.
  • Students who have a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or veterinary medicine may admit to the diplomas of the botany and zoology departments or environmental diplomas.
  • In order for a student to enroll in the supplementary diploma for teachers, they must obtain a bachelor’s degree in science and education and must be working in the field of education.

Second: Postgraduate diplomas with the credit hour system:

  • Conditions for obtaining a diploma in applied environmental sciences and conditions for registration:
  • To enroll in the Diploma of Applied Terrestrial Environmental Sciences, the student must hold a bachelor’s degree in science with a single or double major in (geology, chemistry, botany, zoology, or microbiology) from an Egyptian university or an equivalent degree from a scientific institute recognized by the university or a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Agriculture in the disciplines commensurate with the nature of the study.
  • For a student to enroll in the Diploma in Applied Terrestrial Environmental Sciences and Water Resources Management, he must hold a diploma in Applied Terrestrial Environmental Sciences in one of the three previous specializations.
  1. Master of Science degree, bylaw of the faculty for the year 1994:

Conditions for enrollment for master's degree:
To register for the Master of Science degree, the student must have a bachelor’s degree in science with a single or double major in one the Egyptian universities or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university.

The student’s general grade shouldn’t be less than “good” and their grade in the specialty subject is not less than “good”, with the exception of international students.
In addition the student must meet other scientific conditions set by the concerned department.

  1. Master’s degree registration condition in medical physics:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Biophysics department.
  • Diploma of Medical Physics (for students of specific physics and general physics).

Master's degree for credit hour system

  • Master of Applied Terrestrial Environmental Sciences and Water Resources Management

Conditions:
To apply for a master’s degree in applied terrestrial environmental sciences “soil resources, engineering geology, environmental protection, or water resources management”, the student must hold a Bachelor of Science with a single or double major in (chemistry, geology, botany, zoology, or microbiology) of an Egyptian universities or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university or a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Agriculture in the disciplines commensurate with the nature of the study.
The general grade of the student shouldn’t be less that “good” and the grade in the major is not less than “good, and” the study follows the credit hour system.

First: Postgraduate diplomas for the credit hour system
Postgraduate diploma in analytical environmental chemistry, applied terrestrial environmental sciences, applied terrestrial environmental sciences (soil resources, engineering geology or environmental protection) and water resource management.

The number of times to apply for diplomas in environmental analytical chemistry is determined by only two times (two years). If the student does not succeed after this period, his registration will be canceled permanently.

Second - Master of Science degree, the faculty bylaw for the year 1994 

  • if the student fails in one or more course he/she has the right to submit in the following year to sit the examination in what he failed in.
  • For the Council of Graduate Studies and Research - based on the proposal of the faculty Board - to cancel the registration of the student in light of the annual reports submitted by the supervisory committee
  • The student's enrollment for the degree will be canceled if five years have passed since his registration of the dissertation subject and they don’t obtain the degree unless the Faculty Board decides to maintain the registration for another period to be determined based on the report of the supervisor - or the supervisory body - on the thesis after taking the opinion of the relevant department council.

Third: The master’s degree for the credit hour system
Master’s of Applied Geosciences and Water Resources Management

The number of times to sit for master's examinations is determined to be twice (two years). If the student fails in one or more courses. They can apply for the make up exam as he failed in it, and if he does not succeed, his registration is canceled permanently.
 
Fourth – Ph.D. in Science, Faculty Bylaw for the year 1994:

  • For the Council of Graduate Studies and Research - based on the proposal of the Faculty Board - to cancel the registration of the student in the light of the annual reports submitted by the supervisory committee.
  • The student's enrollment for the degree will be canceled if five years have passed since his registration of the dissertation subject and they don’t obtain the degree unless the Faculty Board decides to maintain the registration for another period to be determined based on the report of the supervisor - or the supervisory body - on the thesis after taking the opinion of the relevant department council.
