Assiut University Receives a Delegation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education at the Faculty of Computers and Information
Under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, on Sunday, February 23, Assiut University received an external review team from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation at the Faculty of Computers and Information.
The team was headed by Dr. Yasmine Fahmy, Professor of Communications at Cairo University, and was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mawla, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Tayseer Hassan Abdel Hamid, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information
Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, emphasized the university administration's commitment to maintaining standards of quality and excellence and implementing a culture of quality within educational institutions, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 for the development of higher education. He pointed out that the university prioritizes providing all means of support to achieve institutional accreditation for its faculties and academic programs. He explained that the university adopts standards that align with the developmental needs of society and contribute to advancing scientific research and improving the quality of its outputs. This enhances the institution's competitiveness at the local, regional, and international levels and supports the achievement of sustainable development goals by graduating generations capable of competing in the labor market
The review team included Dr. Mustafa Aref, Professor of Computer Science at Ain Shams University; Dr. Mohamed Mohamed Issa, Professor of Information Systems at Port Said University; Dr. Mohamed El-Mougy, Professor of Information Systems at Mansoura University; and Dr. Walaa Medhat, Professor of Information Systems at Nile University
Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla praised the efforts of the Faculty of Computers and Information in promoting the concepts and culture of quality and developing the administrative capabilities of all its departments and programs. He also commended the unlimited support provided by the university administration to the faculty, by providing all necessary needs and resources, supporting young researchers, and maximizing the use of available capabilities, thus contributing to the development of the research and technological process within the university
For her part, Dr. Taisir Hassan Abdel Hamid explained that the purpose of the visit was to obtain institutional accreditation for the college, in addition to programmatic accreditation for the Information Systems program. She emphasized the university administration's commitment to developing its performance and institutional capabilities in accordance with modern academic standards, which will positively impact scientific research and community service
The visit was attended by Dr. Ibrahim Ismail, Director of the Quality Assurance Center at Assiut University, and Dr. Ahmed Hosni, Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Director of the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Computers and Information.
