Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the General Department of Youth Welfare – Sports Activity Department-announced the launch of the summer sports activity, which will last until August 28, and includes many team and individual games.
The summer activity is supervised by Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and Student Affairs; Dr. Madiha Darwish, general supervisor of student activities; and Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Administration of Youth Welfare.
The activity includes specialized centers for training and education in several sports, most notably: volleyball, handball, basketball, and swimming, under the supervision of a group of specialized coaches, in order to support students ' abilities and hone their sports talents.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University pays great attention to summer activities, because of their role in discovering and nurturing young sports talents within a safe and modern environment, pointing out that sport is an integral part of building a conscious and active generation, enjoying good health, and adopting a balanced lifestyle, as well as benefiting from qualified sports cadres within the University.
For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula stressed the importance of using the summer holidays to practice useful activities, stressing that sports contribute to the development of a balanced personality, and also provide an opportunity to discover skills and talents and refine them, qualifying students to participate in university and local competitions.
The Sports Activity Department called on all students wishing to participate to quickly go to the headquarters of the General Directorate of Youth Welfare to register their names and join the activities.
