  • On Sunday, May 18, 2025, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and responsible for conducting business at Assiut Al-Ahliya University, followed up on the regularity of the second semester exams for the academic year 2024/2025, which are held at the Faculty of engineering and Applied Sciences, and the Faculty of Finance and Administrative Sciences at Assiut Al-Ahliya University, according to the schedules of each study program. This was done under the supervision of Dr. Nobi Mohammed Hassan, vice president for academic affairs of the University.

     

     In this context, Dr. Noubi Mohammed Hassan conducted an inspection tour this morning, which included the examination committees of the College of engineering and Applied Sciences, where exams for medical engineering, interior architecture, construction engineering and project management programs are held, under the supervision of Dr. Ali Younis, director of programs of the College of engineering and Applied Sciences, Dr. Juma Ahmed Al-Sayed, and Dr. Abdul-m

    Muntalib Mohammed, the chairmen of the committees.He also followed up the examination committees of the English language program at the College of Finance and Administrative Sciences, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Allam, director of programs of the College of Finance and Administrative Sciences.

     

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the good organization of exams in various colleges of Assiut University, stressing the full coordination between the administration of Assiut University and the Departments of the relevant colleges, expressing his appreciation for the efforts of the members of the academic and administrative staff in ensuring the conduct of the examination process with the discipline and accuracy of exams at the University.

     

    Dr. Al-Minshawy also stressed the University's keenness to provide a suitable examination environment for students, by ensuring the quality of ventilation and calm inside the committees, and providing the necessary support and care for students to enable them to perform their exams easily and conveniently.

     

    Dr. Noubi Mohamed Hassan stressed the importance of the presence of faculty members inside the exam halls to respond to students ' inquiries and review the quality of exam papers to ensure the clarity and accuracy of questions, according to the approved technical standards. He also stressed that the university provides a sufficient number of observers and observers, as well as auxiliary services, including security personnel, the medical committee, the legal committee, and service workers, to ensure the efficient and regular conduct of the examination process.

  • - Renewal of the lighting system, gardens and service facilities

     

    - Adding modern electronic games and marble corridors 

     

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and chairman of the board of Directors of the New Assiut University Club, reviewed a report on the most prominent works of developing and raising the efficiency of the infrastructure of the club facilities. This comes as part of the University's plan to improve its facilities and modernize its infrastructure, in order to achieve the desired goals, under the supervision of Dr. Amr Syed Hassan Ahmed, treasurer.

     

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy explained that the New Assiut University Club has recently witnessed a series of comprehensive development and renovation works, which focused on improving its infrastructure and optimizing the utilization of its facilities, in order to ensure the provision of integrated entertainment and service to faculty members and their families, and contributes to enhance the quality of university life.

     

    The report reviewed the most prominent development works witnessed by the New Assiut University Club, as these works included the development of the club's garden by adding new ornamental plants and trees, and enhancing the aesthetic lighting system by installing searchlights and luminous Globes. The works also included the renovation of the main gate, the development of the club mosque, the children's garden, and the children's play area, with the implementation of comprehensive maintenance of the games and providing them with modern electronic games to enhance the visitor experience.

     

    The report also pointed to the implementation of replacement and renovation of paints and interior decorations, in addition to improving service facilities, and the establishment of new sales outlets to meet the needs of members.

     

    The development work also included the installation of two 85-inch TV screens to follow sports events, in addition to the maintenance and painting of 220 bamboo chairs, the provision of 10 mosquito nets and heaters to serve toilets, as part of a comprehensive plan to modernize the club's facilities.

     

    The report also pointed to the attention paid to aesthetic aspects, as wooden and marble walkways were installed inside the park, in addition to the design of a new sign bearing the club's corporate identity, which enhances its visual presence and attractiveness.

     

     It is worth mentioning that the board of Directors of the New Assiut University Club includes in its membership Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Mawla (Vice Chairman), Dr. Amr Syed Hassan Ahmed (Treasurer), Dr. Abdul Hamid Abu Al-Adab Darwish, Dr. Madiha Hosni Ahmed Darwish, Dr. Alaa Mohamed Ahmed Attiya, Dr. Dwaib Hussein Saber Abdel Azim, Dr. Shorouk Jamal Mohamed Ali (youth member), and Dr. Amal Hassan Hussein (Youth member).

  • Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stressed the University's commitment to supporting efforts aimed at strengthening the information society and employing communication technologies to achieve sustainable development, within the framework of the world's celebration of the World Telecommunication and Information Society day (WTISD), which falls on May 17 of each year.

     

    Dr. El-Minshawy explained that Assiut University pays great attention to the development of its digital infrastructure and the modernization of Information Systems in various sectors, to ensure the quality of the educational process and the development of services provided to faculty members, students, and employees. The university also seeks to prepare its students for the requirements of the digital labor market by developing their skills in the field of modern technology and encouraging them to engage in digital innovation and scientific research.

     

    The president of Assiut University pointed out that this year's World Telecommunication Day highlights the urgent need to promote gender equality in the digital field, allowing women and girls everywhere to benefit from and contribute to digital transformation.

     

    Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University will remain keen to participate in international and national initiatives to support the information society and enhance the use of communication technology in various fields, based on its vision to achieve sustainable development and community service.

  • Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the German language education center at the University (DSZ) announced the start of a new A1-2 course during the month of June, followed by another A1-3 Course at the beginning of July, as part of a comprehensive plan to provide German language courses from A1 to B2, under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim, vice president of the University for community service and environmental development, and Dr. Mona Sawy, director of the center.

     

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University pays great attention to international cooperation and is keen to support specialized educational centers, especially in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences, pointing out that the German Language Teaching Center is one of the oldest educational centers in this field in Egyptian universities, where it was established in 1982 and graduated more than 3,000 students. In its programs, the Center relies on the European framework of reference for language education, in cooperation with the German Goethe-Institut.

     

    Dr. El-Minshawy added that the center is working to spread the culture of teaching the German language and provide an interactive and comprehensive learning environment, with the expansion of summer programs to meet the needs of students, with the full support of the University.

     

    On his side, Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim explained that the German language education center is a distinguished model that reflects the University's orientation towards promoting academic openness and cultural exchange with the countries of the world. The center offers a variety of courses including language levels from A1 to B2, in addition to courses in conversation and preparation for international exams, as well as courses for graduate students (master and PhD), which contributes to the qualification of cadres wishing to study or work in Germany, and supports the "study in Egypt"initiative.

     

    In this context, Dr. Mona Hassan Sawy, director of the Center, explained that the courses are offered periodically for all levels, including the courses of the German Language Teaching Center at Assiut University launches language teaching courses at multiple levels to enhance the skills of learners.

     

    The center includes a group of specialists with a DLL certificate accredited by the Goethe-Institut, with a keenness to continuously develop curricula to keep up with the latest international standards and meet the aspirations of students from inside and outside the University.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, announced the accreditation of the Surgical Pathology Laboratory at the university hospitals by the National Accreditation Council (EGAC), after successfully achieving the requirements of the international standard ISO 15189:2022 in a range of pathological tests.

     

    This achievement came under the supervision of Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, Dr. Khaled Abdel Aziz, Director of the Main University Hospital, and Dr. Dalia El-Sers, Head of the Department of Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine.

     

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, affirmed that the accreditation of the surgical Pathology Laboratory at the university hospitals by the National Accreditation Council (EGAC) is a distinguished achievement that reflects the university's commitment to applying the highest quality standards and international specifications in medical services. 

     

    Dr. El-Minshawy congratulated the university hospitals’ staff and the medical and administrative team of the laboratory for their sincere efforts that led to this achievement, noting that this qualitative step contributes to enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided to patients , and enhances the credibility and efficiency of the laboratory's reports and results. 

     

    The University President added that this accreditation aligns with the university’s strategy to support the sustainability of quality, academic and technical accreditation, and the development of medical lab infrastructure. It also aims to enhance operational and technical efficiency by providing all modern capabilities and equipment that keep pace with advancements in the medical field, thereby ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to the community.

     

    Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, explained that the accreditation is a culmination of the dedicated efforts of the medical and administrative teams at the laboratory, who worked diligently to meet technical requirements and international standards. He affirmed the university hospitals’ ongoing commitment to infrastructure development and capacity building for its medical staff in line with the latest developments in healthcare to improve service quality provided to patients.

     

    Dr. Dalia El-Sers confirmed that the accreditation of the Surgical Pathology Lab marks a qualitative leap in its service level, reflecting the team’s commitment to applying international quality standards in tumor and tissue diagnostics. She noted that the lab has achieved a high level of technical proficiency, utilizing the latest medical equipment and following strict procedures to ensure the quality of performance. She emphasized that this achievement came as a result of the team's concerted efforts and the continuous support of the university administration and university hospitals.

     

    The laboratory team includes Dr. Heba El-Deek, Professor in the Pathology Department and Director of the Lab’s Technical Administration; Dr. Noha El-Haggag, Professor in the Pathology Department and Lab Director; and Dr. Abeer El-Refai, Professor in the Pathology Department, along with Dr. Asmaa Mahmoud, Dr. Mahmoud Farouk, Dr. Fatma El-Zahraa Mohamed, Dr. Ghada Farghaly, Dr. Rana Fathy, Dr. Iman Mostafa, and Dr. Shaimaa Gamal.

  • Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, chaired today, Tuesday 13 May, the meeting of the selection committee for candidates for the position of Dean of the Faculty of early childhood education, which was held to conduct personal interviews with applicants for the position, within the framework of the University's keenness to apply integrity and transparency standards in the selection of university leaders, in order to strengthen the administrative system and achieve the desired goals of the University.

    The committee included an elite of faculty members from inside and outside the University, headed by Dr. Ahmed El– Minshawy, and the membership of: Dr. Mohammed Abdul Azim Talab, former vice dean of the Faculty of Commerce for graduate studies and research, director of the Strategic Planning Unit at Assiut University, Dr. Hassan Abdel Latif Abu Al-Ola, full professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University, and vice president of the New Valley University for graduate studies and research, Dr. Boutros Hafez Boutros-Cairo University, Dr. Shahinaz Mohamed Mohamed professor at the Faculty of early childhood education at Assiut University.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the committee worked within the framework of full commitment to objective evaluation, and was keen to study the curriculum vitae of applicants and discuss their future plans for the development of the College, in addition to evaluating their visions for the development of the educational and research process and community service, explaining that the university always seeks to select leaders with a strategic vision capable of innovation and achieving institutional excellence, and to advance development in various colleges. 

    After studying the files, the committee listened to the presentations and proposals of each candidate on his plan to develop academic and administrative performance within the college, including educational, research and community aspects.

    The final list of candidates for the position of Dean of the Faculty of education included: Dr. Yara Ibrahim Mohamed Ibrahim, professor at the Department of Educational Sciences, acting dean of the Faculty, Dr. Manal Anwar Sayed Abdul Sayed, professor at the Department of Educational Sciences, acting vice dean for graduate studies and Research Affairs, and Dr. Reham Refaat Mohamed Hassan Meliji, head of the Department of Educational Sciences.

  • Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, congratulated nursing professionals on the occasion of International Nurses Day, which falls annually on May 12. He expressed his profound appreciation for their noble humanitarian role and their great sacrifices in serving and caring for patients.

    Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that nursing represents a fundamental pillar in the health system, as its role is not limited to participating with doctors in providing medical care, but extends to include the humanitarian aspect and psychological support for patients, indicating that nursing teams have proven their competence and dedication to their noble mission, especially during the COVID-19  pandemic, with their effort and dedication.

    The President of Assiut University pointed out that the Faculty of Nursing at Assiut University is a distinguished model in this field, as it obtained the renewal of its accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation, which reflects the faculty's commitment to applying quality standards in the educational process and qualifying students according to the latest scientific methods.

    Dr. El-Minshawy extended his special congratulations to the nursing staff at Assiut University hospitals, appreciating their great efforts and dedication in providing health care to patients, and emphasizing the university's keenness to support them and improve the level of medical services provided.

    He further praised the nursing teams at the university hospitals for earning the Excellence Award in Patient Safety and Security at the national level, during the nationwide celebration honoring exemplary nurses. This accomplishment, he noted, reflects the continuous advancement in the nursing sector at Assiut University Hospitals.

  • Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, received on Monday, May 12, a delegation from the Administrative Prosecution Authority, headed by Chancellor Abdulwahab Najati, deputy chairman of the Administrative Prosecution Authority and director of the disciplinary case branch in Assiut, and Chancellor Iman Abu Al-Qasim, member of the disciplinary case branch in Assiut, in the framework of enhancing cooperation between the University and the authority, and consolidating the values of integrity and transparency in society.

    The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdulmula, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim, vice president of the University for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for graduate studies and research, Dr. Doib Hussein Saber, dean of the Faculty of law and legal adviser to the president of the University, and professor Shawkat saber, secretary general of the University.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy welcomed the delegation, praising the pivotal role played by the Administrative Prosecution Authority as one of the pillars of the Egyptian justice system, and its role in combating financial and administrative corruption within the state administrative apparatus, to ensure the promotion of integrity, transparency, and protection of public money.

      The president of Assiut University praised the prominent role played by the Administrative Prosecution Authority in applying the provisions of the Constitution and the law through its functions of examination and investigation, in order to ensure the follow-up of disciplinary violations. He stressed that this role makes it an honest guardian of legal values in society, and a mainstay for achieving disciplinary Justice.

    For their side, the delegation of the Administrative Prosecution Authority expressed their appreciation to Assiut University as a leading educational, research and service institution, praising its role in preparing qualified generations with science and knowledge, and its support for legal and judicial competencies, which enhances the capabilities of society and serves the interest of the homeland.

    The delegation also extended an invitation to Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy to participate in the opening of the new headquarters of the Administrative Prosecution Authority in the new city of Assiut, to enhance cooperation and achieve the public interest.

  • Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, expressed his happiness and pride that three of the Sons of the history department at the Faculty of Arts at the University won the Egyptian society for Historical Studies Awards, dedicated to the best master's and doctoral theses in various historical disciplines.

    Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that this achievement reflects the excellence of Assiut University in the field of scientific research, and its keenness to support its researchers, pointing out the importance of motivating honorable and distinguished models to represent the University honorably at the local and international levels.

    This achievement came under the supervision of Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and research, Dr. Magdy Alwan, dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Sameh Fikri, vice dean for graduate studies and research, and Dr. Yusri Abdul Hakim, head of the history department at the college.

    The winners were honored at a ceremony organized by the Egyptian society for Historical Studies, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed El Sherbini, chairman of the board of Directors of the association, Dr. Khalaf Elmery, secretary general of the association, Dr. Abdul Nasser Ibrahim Abdul Hakam, professor at the Department of history in Assiut and member of the board of Directors of the association, Dr. Nadia Qutb, Dr. Amani Qutb, members of the department and the association, as well as a number of senior historians, deans and professors of history at Egyptian universities.

    The list of winners from Assiut University included the following: Dr. Shaima Hassan Ali, winner of the Dr. Ali Abdul Aziz Suleiman award for the best doctoral thesis in economic history, for her thesis entitled "the germination of water in the Levant in the Mamluk era (658-922 /1260-1516), and Dr. Kholoud Mustafa Ismail, winner of the Dr. Qasim Abdu Qasim award for the best master's thesis in the history of the Crusades and Mamluk history, for her research entitled" the contributions of Sunni jurists in the development of life Dr. Monica Dawood Anwar, winner of the Dr. Younan Labib Rizk award for the best master's thesis in modern and contemporary history, for her research entitled "Adolf Hitler's policy towards the disabled and chronically ill in Germany (1933-1945)".

      Graduate Shahad Mohamed Karim also received the Dr. Abdul Hamid Al-Abadi award for the first graduates of the history departments at Egyptian universities for the year 2024, after receiving an excellent grade with honors of 98% from the history department at the Faculty of Arts at Assiut University.

  • As part of the ongoing scientific and cultural cooperation between Assiut University and the French Cultural Institute, and as part of its membership in the University Agency of La Francophonie, Assiut University, under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, succeeded in obtaining a fully funded scholarship from the Sorbonne University in Paris. This scholarship was won by researcher Christina Ibrahim Ishaq, assistant teacher at the Department of French language at the Faculty of Arts.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the University's obtaining a fully funded scientific scholarship from the Sorbonne University in Paris is an important step to be added to its record in the field of international cooperation and support for researchers, pointing out that this scholarship comes as the culmination of the extended scientific and cultural relations between the University and the French Cultural Institute and its active membership in the University Agency of La Francophonie.

    Dr. El-Minshawy explained that the university is keen to enhance the opportunities for scholarship and external training for researchers and faculty members, which contributes to raising their scientific and research efficiency and enhancing the university's role as a global educational and research institution.

    This was supervised by Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president for graduate studies and Research Affairs; Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president for community service and environmental development and chairman of the board of Directors of language centers at Assiut University; and Dr. Noha Abdel Aziz, director of the Center for French language studies and head of the French language department at the Faculty of Arts.

      Dr. Jamal Badr stressed the keenness of the university administration to open new horizons for researchers and enable them to engage in a variety of global academic environments, which contributes to enhancing the level of scientific research, supports the role of the University in serving the community, and increases its competitiveness at the international level.

      Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, chairman of the board of Directors of language centers at Assiut University, stressed that the University's obtaining a funded scientific scholarship reflects its academic excellence and the role of language centers in supporting researchers and developing their skills. He explained that the language centers provide excellent educational and training opportunities for faculty members and researchers, which contributes to raising their scientific and research competence and enhances the reputation of the University at the local and international levels.

      Dr. Noha Rizk pointed out that the scholarship lasts for a month and includes an intensive scientific program focused on the study of linguistics and sociolinguistics, and their impact on the diversity of language practices. The program also includes training on the preparation and discussion of scientific dissertations, writing an analytical resume, and exploring the applications of artificial intelligence in the fields of language, under the supervision of a specialized professor.

    She added that the scholarship is awarded to a limited number of distinguished researchers, as only seven researchers were selected at the level of the Republic, reflecting the excellence of Assiut University and the efficiency of its academic cadres.

  • Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, praised the efforts exerted by the University's disaster committee in providing humanitarian and financial support to workers, under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim, vice president of the University for community service and environmental development, within the framework of the University's keenness to provide care and support to them in the face of crises and emergency conditions, reflecting the University's vision to enhance the social and humanitarian dimension within the university work system.

    Dr. El-Minshawy explained that the disaster committee continues to provide its financial assistance to workers facing emergency health or social crises, through the disbursement of economic subsidies for cases that bear high costs as a result of surgery, whether major or medium, as well as cases of treatment of cancerous tumors. The committee's services also include support for burn cases, social assistance related to cases of death, marriage, and other circumstances that require rapid intervention.

    The committee allows employees to apply for financial support through two forms, the first is social for cases related to marriage, death, or childbirth, with the attachment of supporting documents, and the other is satisfactory for health conditions such as surgeries and cancer diseases, with the submission of medical reports issued within a period not exceeding three months.

    Applications submitted through the Office of the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs are reviewed and approved by the vice president of the university, the financial advisor to the president of the University, and the secretary general of the university, to ensure transparency and accuracy in the disbursement procedures.

    The disaster committee consists of the vice president of the University for community service and environmental development as chairman, the membership of the chancellor of the University for financial affairs, the assistant secretary general for financial affairs, the director general of special funds, in addition to the Accountant of the committee.

    According to the financial statement issued by the committee, the amount of aid disbursed during the fiscal year 2023/2024 amounted to about 1,178,859.29 pounds, reflecting the University's keenness to provide support and care for employees.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the University's disaster fund represents one of the main support aspects for employees and embodies the University's commitment to providing care and support to them in various circumstances.

  • - Dr. El-Minshawy: Assiut University is a pioneer in launching internal Excellence Awards to enhance quality and innovation

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, announced the start of the Assiut University Award for quality and excellence in its third session for the year 2025, which will last until next June 7, organized by the quality and excellence department at the university, under the supervision of Professor Shawkat Saber, secretary general of the University and general supervisor of quality, Dr. Buthaina Al-Fatih, assistant secretary general and supervisor of administration, and Mr.Mohammed Abbas, executive director of the award.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy called on all university employees in various sectors to actively participate in the award, stressing the importance of the competition in promoting creative and innovative thinking, achieving outstanding achievements in providing services, as well as raising the level of institutional performance.

    The president of Assiut University pointed out that Assiut University was a pioneer among Egyptian universities in launching internal Excellence Awards, with the aim of spreading a culture of quality, enhancing the exchange of experiences between members of the administrative apparatus, consolidating the spirit of positive competition, and building an institutional model based on the concepts of governance and sustainable development.

    The award includes four categories: the Distinguished Faculty Award, the Innovative Initiative Award, the Distinguished Team Award, and the Distinguished Website Award.

    Mr. Shaukat Saber pointed out the need to comply with all the criteria and conditions necessary to participate in the competition, stressing that the winners of the first, second, and third places in the second cycle 2023 may not apply in the current cycle 2025 in all categories of the award.

  •  Under the supervision of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, president of the Republic, the fourth edition of the Egyptian-European summit for youth media leaders witnessed a distinguished participation from the media department at the Faculty of Arts at Assiut University, which was organized by the Ministry of youth and sports at the shark camp in Ismailia governorate, under the supervision of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of youth and sports, and coordinated by Professor Karim Adel, general coordinator of youth media projects and initiatives at the Ministry of youth and sports.

      The participation of the media department at the Faculty of Arts, Assiut University, comes under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Mawla, vice president for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Magdy Alwan, dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Mohammed Abu Rahab, vice dean of the Faculty of Arts for education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Rahab Al-Dakhli, head of the media department and media advisor to the president of the University.

    Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of youth and sports, explained that the summit in its fourth edition represented a successful model for investing in the energies of young people, noting that this edition witnessed various discussions on digital media, national security, and Crisis Management, which contributes to qualify Egyptian and European youth to participate in the development of the media scene.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stressed that the participation of the University's youth in the Egyptian-European summit for youth media leadership reflects the University's keenness to prepare conscious media cadres capable of facing challenges, praising the leading role of the Ministry of youth and sports in organizing this summit, which has become a leading platform for development and media education for young people.

    The summit was attended by a representative of Assiut University, Mr. Mustafa Abdel Gawad, assistant lecturer at the media department at the Faculty of Arts, and student Azzedine Abdel Fattah in the third division of the media department, where the activities of the summit stretched over a whole week, including field visits to national institutions, including the Naval Academy, the police academy, the administrative capital, and the Ministry of Interior. The program also included lectures and workshops on media issues, national security, and combating rumors.

    The media department's participation in the third edition of the youth creative media industries exhibition came as one of the most prominent activities, where the Department presented various media projects, including TV and radio programs, documentaries, podcasts, and advertising campaigns, and Assiut University students ' projects were highlighted, including the magazine "Sot" and"University Echo" for journalism specialization, the project "Bedaya" and"Assiut is changing" for public relations specialization, and the project "Jude" and"Room 108" for radio and television specialization.

    The summit concluded its activities by honoring the participants by the minister of youth and sports, stressing that it will continue to be organized in the coming years to support the capabilities of youth media and enhance cooperation between Egypt and the participating European countries.

  • Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stressed the University's commitment to its leading role in community service and environmental development, explaining that the University's civil society support center aims to strengthen community partnership and expand the scope of projects with sustainable impact. He pointed out that the discussion of the center's strategic plan aims to ensure that its activities are consistent with the University's vision of supporting the local community, and enhancing cooperation with various institutions and bodies, in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable development and consolidating the University's position as a hub for Community Development.

    In this context, the Center for civil society support at Assiut University held today, Sunday, May 11, a meeting chaired by Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president of the University for community service and environmental development, to discuss the center's strategic plan for the next two years, which includes ambitious goals to strengthen community partnership and expand the scope of projects with sustainable community impact.


     The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdullah Faisal, assistant professor at the Department of political science at the Faculty of Commerce and director of the Center, Dr. Walid Mustafa, a teacher at the Department of economics at the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Samar Ashraf el shishtawy, a teacher at the Department of economics at the Faculty of Agriculture, and Mr. Mohamed Farag, director of the Misr El Kheir Foundation office in Assiut.

    Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim pointed out that the meeting discussed the proposal to establish a civil society institution that will act as the executive arm of the center, with the aim of enhancing the developmental and service role of the University in community service. He stressed that this step comes within Assiut University's strategy to strengthen its community role and expand its participation in development projects and community initiatives in cooperation with civil society organizations.

    The meeting of the board of Trustees of Assiut Al-Ahlia University was held on Thursday evening, May 8, at the University's headquarters in the new city of Assiut. Dr. Mohammed Awad Taj al-Din, former minister of Health and Population and chairman of the board of trustees, chaired the session via live broadcast "online."

     

     The meeting was attended by Dr. Wael al-dajawi, former minister of Higher Education, deputy chairman of the board of Trustees, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Samy, former president of Assiut University and Secretary of the board of trustees, Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, governor of Assiut, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the Commissioner for conducting the work of the president of Assiut Al-Ahlia University, Dr. Noubi Mohammed Hassan, vice president of Assiut Al-Ahlia University for Academic Affairs, and members of the board of trustees; to discuss several topics related to the academic and administrative process.

     

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and Commissioner of Assiut Al-Ahlia University, welcomed the members of the University's Board of trustees, expressing his thanks and appreciation for their continuous efforts in following up the progress of work and their constant coordination, in a way that enhances the March of Assiut Al-Ahlia University and its role in providing distinguished education. He stressed the effective role of the board of trustees in supporting the University, which is a key pillar for achieving its strategic goals, improving the quality of the educational and research process, and strengthening partnerships with the local and regional community.

     

      Dr. Awad Tajuddin praised the achievements of Assiut private university during a short period, stressing that it was able to achieve a distinctive success among its counterparts, providing a realistic model of the goals for which private universities were established in Egypt. He explained that this success came thanks to the great support provided by the political leadership, headed by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who is the spiritual father and the first supporter of this national project, as he pays great attention to the development of private universities, and directs to provide all the necessary capabilities to ensure that they achieve the standards of smart universities capable of graduating qualified cadres to compete in the labor market locally and internationally.

     

      Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, governor of Assiut, stressed that Assiut private university is one of the national projects that we rely on a lot in making a qualitative leap in the field of higher education in the upper level, especially with the keenness of the state led by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, president of the Republic, to expand the establishment of private universities to provide distinguished and advanced education at affordable prices and linking educational outputs to the labor market, which is evident in the modern equipment of the University and its role as a scientific edifice this is befitting the name of Assiut State University, and its ancient history.

     

      Dr. Ahmed Al-manshawi pointed out that the distinguished and successful work system at Assiut Al-Ahlia University is the fruit of effective cooperation between Assiut State University and Al-Ahlia University, explaining that this success reflects the continuous coordination between the two universities, stressing that Assiut State University is keen to harness its scientific capabilities and its distinguished human cadres to support the educational process at Al-Ahlia University, and provide all forms of logistical, scientific and human support, to ensure the continuity of the quality of education and achieve the University's goals.

     

      Dr. Al-manshawi explained that Assiut Al-ahliya University is currently witnessing practical steps to establish an integrated administrative system, aimed at ensuring the efficiency of the workflow within the University. He pointed out that the university is currently working on expanding its study programs, as well as enhancing international cooperation by building partnerships with prestigious international universities.

     

     The Board of Trustees of Assiut University witnessed the holding of a secret ballot to select two members to represent the council in the selection committee of the university president, one as a primary member and the other as a reserve member. The voting resulted in the selection of Dr. Mohammed Abdul Samee as the main member and Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Chalabi as the Reserve member.

     

     During its meeting, the board of Trustees of Assiut Al-Ahlia University reviewed several strategic, academic, financial, and administrative topics regulating the functioning of the University. The meeting included the approval of the numbers proposed for admission to the University's faculties in the next academic year 2025/2026, in addition to determining the proposed tuition fees for the next year. The financial statements and final accounts of the University for the years 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 were also approved. The council also approved the allocation of the financial link to equip, furnish and furnish the laboratories of the Faculty of Human Medicine in the building of the central laboratories, in addition to the purchase of equipment and models for skills laboratories in the colleges of the medical sector. It was also approved to announce the contract to fill some jobs to work at Assiut Al-Ahlia University.

  • Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, the South Egypt Cancer Institute organized an awareness seminar entitled “Healthy Nutrition and Cancer Diseases”, as part of the university’s commitment to promoting health awareness among both the university community and the wider society.

     

    The seminar was held under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Aleem, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Mohamed Abou El Magd, Dean of the South Egypt Cancer Institute; Dr. Amr Farouk, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Ibrahim Abu El-Oyoun, Director of the University Oncology Hospital. The event was attended by faculty members, doctors, and administrative staff at the institute.

     

    Dr. El-Minshawy emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the relationship between healthy nutrition and disease prevention, particularly cancer, especially cancerous tumors, noting that the university seeks through these events to promote health culture and support prevention and treatment efforts. 

     

    In his speech, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Aleem pointed out that the seminar comes within the university's efforts to spread health awareness and combat diseases, stressing the importance of organizing awareness events that aim to protect individuals from cancerous tumors, in line with the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030.

     

    Dr. Mohamed Abou El Magd also praised the university administration's support for the institute's research and scientific activities, explaining that the institute seeks to provide awareness and treatment services to oncology patients, enhance its role in serving the community and provide psychological support to patients.

     

    The seminar’s keynote speaker was Dr. Osama El-Asheer, Professor of Pediatrics and Head of the Clinical Nutrition Unit at the University Children’s Hospital, and President of the Upper Egypt Association for Clinical Nutrition. In his lecture, he addressed methods of cancer prevention through proper nutrition and the importance of early detection. He outlined the factors contributing to cancer, which include viruses and bacteria, radiation, chemical, genetic, hereditary, hormonal, and nutritional factors.

     

    Dr. Osama El-Asheer also reviewed national early detection initiatives launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which include screening for breast, colon, cervical, prostate, and lung cancers. At the end of his lecture, he provided practical advice on proper nutrition for cancer patients and dietary practices that should be avoided in order to maintain a healthy and safe lifestyle.

  • Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University and in charge of conducting the work of Assiut Al-Ahlia university, received the delegation of the Supreme Council of universities, which visited the University in order to follow up the educational process at the Faculty of administrative and financial Sciences.

     

    The meeting was attended by Dr. Wael Al-Dajawi, deputy chairman of the board of Trustees of Assiut Al-ahliya University and former minister of higher education and scientific research, Dr. Ismail Sabry mekled, professor of political science, member of the board of Trustees of Assiut Al-Ahliya University and former dean of the Faculty of Commerce, and Dr. Noubi Mohammed Hassan, vice president of Assiut Al-Ahliya University for Academic Affairs.

     

    The committee represented by the Supreme Council of universities included Dr. Yasser Mohammed Jadallah, professor of Economics and dean of the National Institute of intellectual property at Helwan University and rapporteur of the committee, Dr. Ahmed Samir Rushdi, professor of Business Administration at Sadat Academy of Administrative Sciences, and Dr. Mohammed Sameh Jamil, assistant professor of Business Administration at Sadat Academy of Administrative Sciences.

     

    The meeting was also attended by Dr. Alaa Abdel Hafeez, dean of the Faculty of Commerce at Assiut University and supervisor of the Faculty of administrative and financial Sciences, and Dr. Ahmed Allam, director of programs of the Faculty of administrative and financial sciences at Assiut Al-Ahlia University.

     

    At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed the keenness of the university administration to provide all means of support and care to the faculties of the private university and its students, pointing out that this Assiut private university offers a distinguished educational level academically and practically, and contributes to the availability of higher education to accommodate the increasing numbers of students and achieve advanced educational quality in various disciplines.

     

      Dr. El-Minshawy explained that the private university, working under a joint cooperation protocol with Assiut University, aims to provide training opportunities for students and benefit from experiences and consultations in the fields of education and scientific research, which contributes to the development of the educational system positively.

     

    For his part, Dr. Noubi Mohamed Hassan pointed out that the committee's visit aims to assess the college's capabilities and modern equipment, as well as review the educational services it provides, in order to determine the possibility of adding new study programs with the beginning of the academic year 2025/2026, to meet the aspirations of students and meet the requirements of the labor market locally and internationally.

     

    In a related context, Dr. Alaa Abdel Hafiz explained that the current academic year 2024/2025 represents the third year since the start of study at the College, which offers the English language program and the Business Information Systems Program, and currently has about 800 students. He also pointed out that the next academic year will see the graduation of the first batch of college students.

     

    It is worth mentioning that the committee members ' visit to Assiut University included a tour of a number of university units, including the Department of education and student affairs, the University theater, the medical clinic, and the Central Library.

  • Dr. El-Minshawy: honorable representation of Assiut University students at the 13th ibdaa festival, and I invite them to continue excellence and success

    In a new achievement added to its track record, Assiut University has achieved (11) various awards in the literary, scientific, and artistic fields within the activities of the "13 creativity festival" organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the academic year 2024/2025, under the supervision of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, with the participation of universities, higher institutes, government, and private academies.

    The University's participation came under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Madiha Darwish, general supervisor of student activities, and Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Administration of student welfare at the University.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his pride in the participating university students, congratulating them on the individual and collective awards won by the University. He called for continuing participation in student activities and enhancing the honorable representation of the University in local and international forums.

    For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula praised the efforts of the staff of the student welfare department, who supported the participants until they achieved these achievements, stressing the keenness of the university administration to provide all possibilities to support students and hone their talents in various fields.

    In the artistic field, the University's music team achieved the second place (non-specialized group playing), and the team included (17) students from various colleges, and the University's folk arts team consisting of (25)students received the award for the best musician and singing in the field of folk arts.

    And in individual achievements: the student / Mario Wagdy Kamel _ Faculty of Dentistry _ won the first place in the solo performance, and
    Student/Mira Reza _ fourth division _ Faculty of Fine Arts, won third place in the field of color photography (specialized).

    The student/Muhammad Ali, fourth division, Faculty of Engineering, also received the best decoration award in the field of theatrical performances, and the student/ Ali Ayman, second division, Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, received the jury award for the best movement performer in popular arts.

    As for the cultural activity, the student/ Mohammed Anwar _ Faculty of nursing _ won the second place in colloquial poetry, the student/ Diab Saudi Diab _ Faculty of computers and information _ achieved the second place in classical poetry, the student/Nada Khaled _ Faculty of Fine Arts _ won the third place in the field of reporter, and the student/ Mahmoud Mohammed _ Faculty of medicine _ won the third place in playwriting.

    In the scientific activity, the university achieved third place in the field of scientific innovations, through a team consisting of students Mohamed Hossam Mohamed, Amr Noureddine Abdellatif, and George Nabih Farid (Faculty of Engineering).

    The delegation of the artistic activity was supervised by Mr. Mohammed Juma, director of the arts department, and led and trained by Mr. Hassan Badari, Ms. Rasha Jalal, Ms. Sheri Wajdi, Mr. Talaat Bakri, and Mr. Ahmed Mahmoud.

    The cultural activity delegation was also supervised by Mr. Hashem Sayed, Ms. Abeer Yousry, Ms. Marwa Abdel Fattah, and Mr. Ahmed Nasr, while the scientific activity delegation was led by Mr. Walid Zeidan, Mr. Ahmed Hashem, and Mr. Mahmoud Al-Kashef.

  • Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the faculties of Science and agriculture organized an educational seminar entitled "Climate changes and their impact on the sustainable environment of living organisms", under the slogan "Our country is a secretariat in our hands", under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, vice president of the University for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Abdul Hamid Abdul Tawab Abdul Hamid Abu Sahli, dean of the Faculty of Science, and Dr. Adel Mohammed Mahmoud Abu Dahab, dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.

    The seminar was organized under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Abu Al-Oyoun, undersecretary of the College of Science for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Essam Fadl Mohammed Abu Zeid, undersecretary of the College of Science for community service and environmental development, and Dr. Jalal Abdel Fattah Ibrahim al-Saghir, undersecretary of the College of Agriculture for community service and environmental development, with the participation of several undersecretaries of colleges, heads of departments, faculty members, the auxiliary staff, employees and students at various colleges of the University.

    Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the organization of this seminar comes within the framework of the University's keenness to promote environmental awareness among students and the university community, and to keep pace with global efforts to meet environmental challenges. He pointed out that the University seeks through such seminars to enhance its awareness and scientific role, and highlight the importance of preserving the environment and ensuring its sustainability for a better future for future generations.

    For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Alim explained that climate change is a global challenge that requires concerted research and institutional efforts to face it, stressing the importance of promoting environmental education among society groups, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt's Vision 2030.

    Dr. Mohammed Abu Al-Oyoun pointed out the importance of holding these scientific and educational seminars to enhance the awareness of the university community of the importance of preserving the environment and adopting sustainable development policies.

    Dr. Essam Fadl Mohammed Abu Zeid stressed that the Faculty of Science pays special attention to environmental research, and seeks to highlight the impact of climate change on living organisms, and ways to achieve a sustainable environment.

    The seminar program included several specialized scientific lectures, where Dr. Adel Mohammed Mahmoud Abu Al-Dahab presented a lecture entitled" green economy in light of climate changes", in which he discussed the mechanisms of achieving a green agro-vegetable and animal economy, and reviewed the projects of the Faculty of Agriculture in this field, such as roof cultivation, Azula production unit, expansion in jojoba cultivation, in addition to organizing a green energy exhibition.

    Dr. Nasser Mohammed Abdul Latif, professor of Zoology and entomology, also presented a lecture entitled" The impact of environmental changes on living organisms and ways to combat them", in which he discussed biodiversity and means of adaptation to climate changes.

    Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Abdul Rahman Abdul Jawad, assistant professor at the Department of Botany and Microbiology, spoke about "climate change and their impact on plant diversity and proposed solutions to achieve sustainable development".

    Dr. Mohammed Abdul Latif Juma, assistant professor at the Department of Botany and Microbiology, concluded the seminar with a lecture entitled" Microorganisms in a changing climate: challenges and opportunities to achieve sustainability", where he reviewed the relationship between climate change and the spread of microorganisms and mycotoxins.

    At the end of the event, the lecturers were honored in recognition of their scientific contributions and efforts to enrich the symposium.
