Assiut University President: The nursing sector is an indispensable part of the health care system

On Sunday, February 16, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, inaugurated the seventh international conference organized by the Faculty of Nursing under the title "The Future of Nursing in Light of Modern Technological Developments," in cooperation with the faculties of nursing at Badr and Sphinx Universities, under the supervision of Dr. Samah Mohamed Abdallah, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Head of the conference.

The event also witnessed the presence of prominent figures including:Dr. Alaa Atiya: Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of Assiut University Hospitals, Dr. Khaled Abdel Aziz: Director of the Main University Hospital,Dr. Rehab Al-Dakhly: Media Advisor to the President of Assiut University, Dr. Samir Shehata: Professor of Oncology and Nuclear Medicine at Assiut University,Dr. Mahmoud Shehata: Vice President of Sphinx University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Manal Farouk: Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Badr University, Dr. Fatma Rashdy: Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Assiut University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Nahed Shawkat: Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Nadia Taha: Secretary of the Nursing Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities, and Dr. Shadia Abdel Kader: Former Secretary of the Nursing Sector Committee.
The conference brought together esteemed faculty members, nursing experts from various Egyptian universities, both public and private, as well as representatives from Al-Zarqa University in Jordan, the Jordanian Nursing Council, and Ohio University in the USA, in addition to a group of medical professionals from diverse specialties.
At the beginning of his speech, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy welcomed the university's guests participating in the distinguished scientific conference of the College of Nursing, which discusses the future of nursing in light of modern technological developments: The future of nursing in light of modern technological developments, thanking the organizing committee for their efforts in organizing the conference, stressing that Egypt will continue to be proud of its loyal people.
The President of Assiut University also extended his sincere and heartfelt prayers on the occasion of the upcoming Ramadan, praying to God to return these venerable days to us and our dear Egypt with goodness, development and prosperity under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
The President of Assiut University explained that this conference comes to emphasize the importance of the role of nursing in health care, as nurses are an essential part of the health care system that cannot be dispensed with, explaining: The effort exerted by all members of this important sector is a commendable and appreciated effort to provide care services, rehabilitation, prevention of complications that threaten the lives of patients, helping them to recover and return to their normal lives, where the nurse is an active member of the health care team in various hospitals, institutions and health centers.
Dr. El-Minshawy added that through his follow-up of the development of the health system within university hospitals, it was confirmed to him that the field of nursing can benefit from technology: The field of nursing can benefit from technology, improve the possibility of following up on the health status of patients, and achieve higher efficiency of health services and the quality of care provided
Dr. El- Minshawy stated that the future of nursing within the framework of modern technology is very promising, as it is expected to witness more developments and expansion in the coming years, as technology evolves, and more smart applications and devices are expected to emerge that will contribute to improving the nursing experience, in addition, artificial intelligence can contribute to analyzing health data and providing more accurate treatment recommendations.
During his speech, Dr. El-Mine nshawy pointed out that the implementation of this conference comes within the framework of cooperation with Badr, Sphinx, and Misr University for Science and Technology, to achieve the objectives of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, launched by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to activate aspects of cooperation between universities, and implement the seven principles of the strategy (integration, interdisciplinary, communication, effective participation, sustainability, international reference, innovation and entrepreneurship), and this emphasizes the idea of integration with various universities, preparation and implementation of joint research, training programs, and field activities.
Dr. Samah Abdullah stated that the seventh edition of the conference aims to exchange opinions, experiences, practices and different experiences about the future of nursing in light of modern technological developments: Expressing her happiness for the cooperation between the Faculty of Nursing at Assiut University and the Faculties of Nursing at Badr and Sphinx Universities, which contributes to improving the quality of health services provided by the nursing sector, she also extended her sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy for his unlimited support for the faculty and its development, pointing out that this support is an incentive for the faculty to provide more progress and renaissance to serve the nursing sector: This support is an incentive for the college to provide more progress and renaissance to serve the nursing sector and upgrade it.
Dr. Nidal Aisha expressed his happiness to attend this distinguished scientific conference, which is a beacon and a leading station to attract intellectuals and experts from nursing leaders at the international level, pointing out that the most important feature of the international conference of the Assiut College of Nursing is the harmony and integration between the nursing and medical sectors; in order to serve the medical system and patients; he extended sincere thanks and appreciation to the ancient Assiut University for holding this distinguished conference; wishing Assiut University and the College of Nursing further progress.
Dr. Haney Al-Nawafleh emphasized the depth of Egyptian and Jordanian relations throughout history in various fields, praising the tangible progress achieved by Assiut University College of Nursing in the field of health care and nursing and its constant aspiration to keep pace with scientific and technological development by holding scientific and research meetings and conferences, which confirms its future vision in various specialties, calling on young doctors to keep pace with scientific developments and always strive to develop their abilities and develop their skills.
Dr. Soheir Badr El-Din praised Assiut University as one of the distinguished scientific edifices in Upper Egypt, and also praised the Faculty of Nursing, a beacon of science and research in the field of nursing and health care, appreciating what the conference discusses through valuable scientific sessions on the latest developments in the field of nursing, to achieve a real renaissance in the quality of health services provided to the community, and reviewed the efforts of the sector committee to support nursing colleges by developing and improving curricula, upgrading the quality of education and training, promoting scientific research to meet current health challenges, achieving a comprehensive and sustainable vision to implement the higher education system and promote research in a sustainable manner to meet current health challenges.
Dr. Kawthar Mahmoud also praised the efforts of the Faculty of Nursing and its leadership, the excellence of its scientific cadres, its academic programs, and its interest in graduating generations of nurses capable of serving and upgrading the medical system, especially in light of the Egyptian state's efforts to implement the comprehensive health insurance system, which requires trained nursing staff, explaining: The comprehensive health insurance system has revolutionized the health system in Egypt and eliminated all the challenges facing the health system as a whole.
