Assiut University achieves third place in the 'Best Eco-friendly University' competition for the academic year 2022/2023.

Prof. Ahmed El-Menshawi, the president of Assiut University, announced that the Supreme Council of Universities has approved the results of the 'Best Eco-friendly University' competition for the academic year 2022/2023. The competition was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research under the patronage of Prof. Ayman Ashour, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Assiut University secured the third place among Egyptian universities. Prof. Ahmed El-Menshawi expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for motivating Egyptian universities to achieve sustainable development goals through meaningful competitions and the implementation of environmental protection projects.

The competition aims to achieve green (eco-friendly) Egyptian universities by measuring and testing certain criteria and core concepts that universities adhere to in order to preserve the environment and promote sustainability as part of their vision and mission. This includes having a clear policy and plan, providing community services that support sustainability, and assessing how well sustainability aligns with environmental laws, regulations, and international agreements.
