- Dr. El-Minshawy: quality is a necessity to ensure the continuity of educational institutions and keep pace with global development
Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, the quality assurance and qualification Center for accreditation organized, on Wednesday, April 16, a training course entitled "Total Quality Management in higher education institutions", in the discussion Hall on the first floor upstairs in the administrative building of the University.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that this course comes within the framework of the University's continuous efforts to consolidate the culture of quality and institutional excellence, and improve the level of academic and administrative performance in all its colleges and units, pointing out that quality is no longer an option but has become an imperative necessity to ensure the continuity of educational institutions and keep pace with global developments. He also explained that the university pays great attention to the qualification of its cadres on the concepts of quality and its applications, believing that the real institutional development starts from within and is based on solid scientific foundations.
This course is part of a series of training programs organized by the quality assurance and qualification Center for accreditation at Assiut University, based on the University's belief in the importance of spreading the culture of quality and providing its employees with sufficient knowledge about quality systems and requirements, and standards of institutional excellence.
The training course was held under the supervision of Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Ismail, director of the quality assurance and qualification Center for accreditation, Dr. Amani Al-Sharif, deputy director of the center, and Mr. Jamal Al-Din Abdul Hafeez, managing director of the center. During the lecture, Dr. Fatima Rushdi Mohammed, vice dean of the College of Nursing for education and student affairs, lectured with the participation of a selection of faculty members, their assistants, university staff and University Hospitals.
During her lecture, Dr. Fatima Rushdi addressed a number of key topics, including: the importance of quality in education, the definition of Total Quality Management in higher education institutions, the principles on which it is based, and the reasons for the growing interest in its application in universities. She also reviewed the advantages and considerations of applying total quality in Egyptian universities, the priorities of its implementation, the strategic dimensions of Quality Management in the higher education sector, in addition to quality assurance and accreditation, the axes of applying total quality within colleges, the role of the student from a quality perspective, as well as the competencies of the University professor in this context.
