We offer 3 Programs:

  1. Zoology program
  2. Entomology Program
  3. Chemistry/ Zoology Program

Zoology program aims:-

  1. To Provide its graduate students with a broad understanding of whole-organism biology and to identify as well as characterize different communities and ecosystems supporting the biological organism together with a more detailed and critical understanding of selected areas in Zoology to prepare them for higher studies in different disciplines of Zoology.
  2. To Provide its graduate students with a range of subject-specific and generic skills appropriate to employment both within Zoology and outside like fisheries, labs, teaching, and forensic science.
  3. To supply graduate students with essential knowledge and skills for postgraduate work and a professional career in Zoology and to help them to work in groups, and communicate effectively with others.
  4. To develop in its students the ability to apply their scientific knowledge and skills to solve practical problems related to Zoology and to design, conduct and interpret data of practical investigations (in labs or fields).
  5. To cultivate interest in Zoology, particularly at the organismal level, within a caring and intellectually stimulating environment to know, understand, assess, evaluate, and recognize different levels of organization in biological systems: cells, tissues and organs of the organisms and to acquire the modern subjects and techniques and molecular Biology.

The entomology program aims to provide its graduates with:

  1. Knowledge and understanding of the concepts and theories of modern Biology.
  2. Knowledge of areas of entomology, including morphology, anatomy, physiology, behavior, ecology, classification, distribution, and economic importance of insect species, at a more advanced level.
  3. A wide range of transferable skills, including skills in laboratory techniques, field techniques, scientific communication, and data analysis.
  4. Knowledge on how genetics underlies many of the bases of modern biology and how life processes are integrated and maintained.
  5. Ability to develop strategies for self-learning and updating information.
  6. Ability to apply entomology-relevant information to practical problems regarding insect-plant, insect-animal, and insect-human interactions.
  7. Qualifications to exploit a wide range of employment opportunities in various fields, including scientific research, entomology teaching, and advice-giving.

Chemistry and Zoology Program aims to:

  1. Develop a broad understanding of whole-organism biology together with a more detailed and critical understanding of selected areas in zoology with emphasize on chemical aspects.
  2. Create specific and generic skills in students that are appropriate for employment both within the fields of zoology and chemistry
  3. Prepare students for postgraduate studies and a professional career in zoology, biochemistry, and immunology.
  4. Develop in our students the ability to apply their scientific knowledge and skills to solve practical problems related to zoology and biochemistry.
  5. To provide students with deep knowledge in zoology and chemistry.
  6. To cultivate interest in zoology, particularly at the organismal level, within a caring and intellectually stimulating environment.
