Dr. El-Minshawy: Assiut University renews its commitment to protecting children and promoting awareness and community education
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stressed that the International Day Against Child Labor, which falls on June 12 every year, is a very important occasion to highlight the suffering of children who are forced to work at an early age, in environments that threaten their health, hinder their education and violate their childhood. He pointed out that the ILO has launched this day since 2002 in order to mobilize efforts to confront this dangerous phenomenon, and to emphasize that the protection of children is the cornerstone of any sustainable development.
He added that this event renews the call to assume collective responsibility in the fight against child labor, stressing that Assiut University puts childhood issues at the heart of its community role, and constantly seeks to raise awareness of children's rights and enhance their protection from all forms of exploitation.
He explained that the University contributes to addressing this phenomenon by integrating it into the axes of scientific research, awareness-raising activities carried out by its faculties, as well as community partnerships aimed at protecting children within the community.
Dr. El-Minshawy pointed out that Assiut University continues to support the efforts of the Egyptian state to contribute to building community awareness that respects the right of children to education and ensures a safe environment for growth and development

Within the framework of Assiut University's interest in linking university education with practical reality, the Faculty of engineering workshops come as an integrated model that embodies this trend and enhances the University's role in supporting the circular economy and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Salah, dean of the college.
The workshops include a group of specialized units that provide a balanced mix between the educational and applied side, where the blacksmithing and carpentry workshops are among the most prominent of those units, as they contribute to the manufacture of University furniture and renovation, to meet the needs of different colleges and departments within the University.
The Digital Fabrication Laboratory (CNC) also stands out as one of the most important components of the workshops, as it allows students to implement precise mechanical designs using computer digital control techniques, which enhances their practical skills and opens up wider horizons for them in the labor market.
The workshops also include units for the maintenance of various devices, the renovation of seats and tables, as well as a specialized unit in the manufacture of models and engineering models that serve student and research projects, which reflects the integration of academic infrastructure and technical support directed to the educational process.
The workshop services go beyond the University's borders, where manufacturing works are provided for the benefit of a number of industrial institutions and bodies, which strengthens the concept of community integration and highlights the developmental role played by the University in serving the local community.
Through these workshops, the Faculty of engineering continues to consolidate its vision aimed at developing the capabilities of its students, supporting the local economy, and enhancing the spirit of innovation and production within an integrated educational environment
An Invitation to attend the annual exhibition and ceremony of the scientific departments of the Faculty of specific education-Assiut University
Under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Yasmin Ahmed Al-kahki, dean of the faculty of specific education, the faculty organizes the annual exhibition and ceremony of scientific departments for the academic year 2024/2025, on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at ten o'clock in the morning, at the faculty’s headquarters.
The exhibition includes a variety of artistic and creative projects for students of various departments at the faculty, which include: the Department of art education, the Department of music education, the Department of Home Economics, and the Department of educational technology, as the exhibition reflects the fruit of what students have learned throughout the academic year, and is an occasion to celebrate their creativity and applied skills.
This event comes within the framework of the University's keenness to support student activities and improve the scientific and professional level of its students by providing real platforms to showcase their talents and develop their abilities in a distinguished educational environment.
Dr. El-Minshawy meets the director of the National Anti-Corruption Academy to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between it and Assiut University in the fields of research, training, and building community awareness
Within the framework of Assiut University's support for the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (2023-2030) and Egypt's vision for Sustainable Development "2030", Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, met with Major General Hisham Al-Rukaibi, director of the National Anti-Corruption Academy, to discuss prospects for joint cooperation between the two sides in a number of academic, awareness-raising and training fields.
The meeting was attended by Major General Ahmed Mansour, deputy director of the Academy for Research Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Adawi, director of the Center for Future Studies at the University, and Professor Ibrahim Abdel Tawab, director general of the Office of the President of Assiut University in Cairo.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed during the meeting that Assiut University places the promotion of integrity, transparency, and anti-corruption values among its priorities, and seeks to expand cooperation with the Academy in three main areas, including scientific research, community awareness, and capacity building.
He explained that the focus of postgraduate studies and scientific research includes the availability of academic cadres from the university to supervise Master's and doctoral theses in the fields of anti-corruption, in addition to the preparation of training manuals and specialized scientific programs in cooperation between the University and the Academy experts, and the implementation of field research and joint applied studies, such as studying the impact of previous training programs in cooperation with the Administrative Control Authority.
The Faculty of Commerce at Assiut University honors its workers in recognition of their giving and sincere efforts
In a humanitarian gesture that reflects appreciation and recognition of giving, the Faculty of Commerce at Assiut University organized a seminar to honor its workers under the title: "Workers of the Faculty of Commerce... Partners of success, hands that embrace and deserve recognition", within the activities of The "our country is a secretariat in our hands" initiative, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, in the framework of supporting the culture of teamwork and promoting the values of belonging and mutual respect within the University.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Alim, vice president for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Alaa Abdul Hafeez, dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Amal Al-Dali, vice dean for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Mohammed Adawi, vice dean for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Nasmat Hashmat, vice dean for graduate studies and research, and Mr. Abdulqader Mahran, secretary general of the college, along with several faculty members, department managers and college staff.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy praised the initiative, describing it as a noble initiative that embodies the spirit of appreciation and gratitude to those who make a real effort in silence and contribute to consolidating the values of belonging and teamwork within the University. He stressed that these humanitarian gestures reflect the University's orientation towards promoting a positive working environment dominated by respect and integration among all its members.

Assiut University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the university, has the honor to invite you to attend the second scientific forum for professional programs at the Faculty of Commerce, which is being held under the title "Institutional Reform and Digital governance to support the building of the Egyptian state" on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., in the university's administrative building.
The forum will be held under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and Student Affairs; Dr. Jamal Badr, acting vice president for graduate studies and research; Dr. Alaa Abdul Hafeez, dean of the Faculty of Commerce; Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Adawi, vice dean of the Faculty of Commerce for Education and Student Affairs; and Dr. Nesma Heshmat, vice dean of the Faculty of Commerce for graduate studies and research.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stated that the second scientific forum for professional programs represents an important intellectual and scientific platform that embodies the active role played by the University in supporting the country's orientations towards institutional reform and digital transformation, as they are one of the main pillars of building a modern state with effective institutions.
Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that the forum reflects the University's commitment to enhancing dialogue and exchange of experiences between academics, specialists, and decision-makers, which contributes to the development of government performance and the modernization of the administrative structure according to the latest concepts and contemporary systems.
He added that Assiut University attaches special importance to activating its social and scientific role in addressing priority national issues, foremost of which is digital governance and institutional reform, based on its belief that comprehensive development requires advanced management and digital administrative systems capable of facing the challenges of the present and foreseeing the future.
For his side, Dr. Alaa Abdul Hafeez, dean of the Faculty of Commerce, explained that the forum's program includes a set of specialized scientific sessions, starting with the first session entitled "Institutional Reform and Improving the Efficiency of government services", followed by the second session entitled "financial governance and enhancing the performance of the government apparatus", then the third session entitled "Digital Governance to support government policies", and the events conclude with the fourth session, a seminar dedicated to students in professional programs.
Dr. Alaa Abdel Hafiz also pointed out that the forum's activities will include the signing of a cooperation protocol between Assiut University and South Valley University on the implementation of several professional programs (Master and professional doctorate), by the regulations of Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Commerce – Assiut University, which contributes to expanding the scope of academic partnership and enhancing the efficiency of the educational process in the field of Professional Graduate Studies.

- Dr. El-Minshawy: Urgent services for more than 2049 patients and 362 different surgeries.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of Assiut University, confirmed that university hospitals in various specialties were keen to provide the best medical services to citizens during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, as they received patients 24 hours a day, as part of the university's ongoing efforts to strengthen the health system in Upper Egypt, contribute to improving the level of medical services, and support efforts to eliminate waiting lists.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy pointed out that during the holiday period from June 5 to 9, the university hospitals received 2049 patients, in addition to performing 362 major and minor surgeries, in addition to laparoscopic surgeries, as well as 101 patients admitted to intensive care units, in addition to providing many other medical services, including analyzes, radiology, internal departments, and dispensing the necessary medicines, in addition to providing many other medical services, including analyzes, radiology, and internal departments.
Assiut University President added that the hospitals worked at full capacity during the vacation to receive all emergency cases and patients, through the reception departments, intensive care units, medical units and laboratories, with the regularity of medical teams on duty, according to a work plan that ensured the continuation of medical care and alleviation of patients' suffering around the clock.
The patients were distributed among various specialized university hospitals, including: the Emergency and Trauma Hospital, Heart Hospital, Pediatric Hospital, Main University Hospital, Women’s Health Hospital, Al-Rajhi Liver and Gastrointestinal Hospital, and the Neuropsychiatric Hospital. This reflects the high level of preparedness of the university hospital system to provide high-quality services across multiple specialties around the clock.
Dr. El-Minshawy was keen to continuously follow up the progress of work in the hospitals during the holiday period, and to follow up on the challenges facing the work teams and work to overcome them, stressing the keenness to apply occupational health and safety standards in all medical sectors, within the framework of the university's strategy to improve public health and ensure patient safety.
For his part, Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of Assiut University Hospitals, explained that the medical system continued its work during the Eid holidays with high efficiency and continuous effort, noting that the hospitals' reception departments including Trauma, General, Obstetric Emergency, Pediatric, and Burns Unit—along with intensive care units, were fully prepared to operate 24/7, with the availability of medical teams, essential supplies, and medications to handle any potential emergencies.
Assiut University Hospitals continue to fulfill its vital role in providing advanced and continuous medical services in the heart of Upper Egypt, in addition to its educational mission in qualifying and training young doctors, through a highly accurate therapeutic and diagnostic system implemented by an elite group of qualified doctors, nurses and administrators.
The president of Assiut University receives a report on the follow-up of the progress of work in the university cities and the Olympic Village
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stressed that the university continues to provide all necessary support and care to its students, especially during the end-of-the-academic year exams, pointing out that attention extends to students residing in university cities, expatriates, final years students and graduation projects, to ensure a stable and stimulating university environment that helps them excel.
This came within the framework of the report received from Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University for education and Student Affairs, on the follow-up of the regularity of work within the university cities and the Olympic Village.
The report explained that the follow-up tour of Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula included a number of units of the University City, accompanied by Mr. Mahmoud Antar, director general of the university cities, Mr. Emad Mohammed Sayed, director of the University City for students, and a number of heads of residential units and employees, where the regularity of accommodation and the continuation of the provision of services efficiently, to support the stability of students during the examination period.
Dr. El-Minshawy pointed out that the report also included the follow-up of the replacement and renovation works currently underway in building X inside the University City, where he directed the rapid completion of the works and preparing the building for housing students in it as soon as possible.
For his side, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula stated that the follow-up rounds come within the framework of implementing the directives of the president of the university, praising the efforts exerted by the university city administrations to ensure the comfort of students and provide a suitable environment for memorization during exams.
Regarding the Olympic Village, Dr. Ahmed Qara, the general supervisor of the village, confirmed that the follow-up work focused on the readiness of the swimming pool and sports facilities, and ensuring their compliance with public safety standards and preventive measures. Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Director General of the General Directorate of Youth Welfare, also pointed out the regularity of work within the village and the availability of follow-up and insurance teams to provide services smoothly and safely to students and visitors.
These efforts come within a comprehensive plan adopted by the university to ensure the quality of services provided to students, and their continuation efficiently during the examination periods.
Assiut University resumes second semester exams after Eid al-Adha holiday
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, confirmed the resumption of the second semester exams for the academic year 2024/2025 at the faculties of Medicine and law, starting today, Tuesday, following the end of the Eid al-Adha holiday, according to the time map approved by the Supreme Council of universities.
Dr. El-Minshawy pointed out that the university was keen to provide all means of comfort and support for students within the committees, by equipping halls and controls, reviewing exam schedules, and making sure that they are suitable for students, with full compliance with the specifications of the exam paper in terms of clarity of questions and proportionality to the allotted time, and fair distribution of grades.
The president of Assiut University stressed the importance of the presence of faculty members within the committees throughout the exam period to respond to students ' inquiries, stressing the University's commitment to applying the highest standards of discipline and transparency during the exam process.
With regard to the correction work, Dr. El-Minshawy explained that the deans of the colleges were instructed to quickly complete the correction work and monitor grades first, especially for students of the final teams, in order to announce the results early.
The president of Assiut University also stressed the continued implementation of student activities in various forms during the summer vacation, and support for talented people in the sports, artistic and cultural fields, with the aim of enhancing the spirit of belonging and investing the energies of young people to serve the educational process and community alike.
The faculty members and Leadership Development Center at Assiut University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of the University, announces the launch of the "digital transformation for graduate students" courses, under the supervision of Dr. Jaber Ahmed Mujahid, director of the center.
The training program is held from 15 to 30 June. Registration is available by going to the center's headquarters in the administrative building of the University, ground floor, suite (C).

The president of Assiut University also praised the unprecedented boom witnessed by the higher education sector, represented by the expansion of the establishment of private universities, where the number reached 32 universities, after the issuance of Republican decisions to establish 12 new universities, thus increasing the number of universities nationwide from only 50 universities in 2014 to 128 universities at the present time, which clearly reflects the amount of support and attention paid by the political leadership to this vital sector.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, received several church leaders in Assiut Governorate yesterday evening, Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in the presence of several university leaders, to offer congratulations on the occasion of the Blessed Eid al-Adha. The meeting embodied the spirit of love and brotherhood characterized by Egyptian society and reflected the depth of national ties that unite the Sons of the same Homeland.
During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his great happiness with this visit, stressing that Egypt, with the cohesion of its Muslim and Christian children, offers a unique model of coexistence and Brotherhood, adding: "We live together in one homeland united by love and mutual respect, and such visits reflect the civilized face of Egypt, based on tolerance and cooperation for the uplift of this great homeland."

The purpose of the meeting was to listen to their views and concerns, and to discuss ways to enhance their work and training environment—part of the university’s ongoing commitment to supporting its young medical professionals and improving the quality of healthcare services provided to patients.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Assiut University Hospitals; Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid, Director of the Trauma and Emergency Hospital; as well as several faculty members and hospital doctors.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. El-Minshawy affirmed that young doctors are a top priority for the university, recognizing their vital role in the healthcare system. He emphasized the university administration’s keenness to maintain direct and continuous communication with medical teams and to foster a transparent environment where their voices are heard.
During his speech, the university president was keen to reassure the young doctors, saying: "You are in our hearts. Every challenge you face is our responsibility, we are with you step by step," he said, adding: "Every young doctor is a leader in his field, and we must guarantee you fair working conditions, good training and real development opportunities."
In this context, he stressed that the university spares no effort in providing a fair and motivating work environment for all doctors. He also confirmed that efforts are ongoing to develop infrastructure and medical equipment, while empowering young professionals as the cornerstone of the future healthcare sector.
During the meeting, the university president directed a package of systematic measures aimed at improving the work environment inside the Trauma and Emergency Hospital, including developing work systems, providing appropriate equipment, and balancing the distribution of workloads.

Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, received on Tuesday, June 3, a high-level delegation from the Assiut Court of Appeal, headed by Chancellor Ahmed Abdel Aziz, president of the Assiut Court of appeal, within the framework of enhancing joint cooperation between the University and the judicial institution in a number of areas of common interest.
The judicial delegation included advisor Mahmoud Salama, head of the appeal and a member of the Technical Office, Advisor Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Aziz, head of the appeal and a member of the technical office, and advisor Mohamed Serag, head of the appeal and a member of the Technical Office of the Assiut Court of Appeal.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy expressed his great welcome to the judicial delegation, stressing Assiut University's pride in the fruitful relations it has with state institutions, especially the judiciary, because of its high national value and a key role in consolidating the principles of justice and the rule of law. - President of the University: the new laboratories are a qualitative leap in the development of training and clinical evaluation
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, opened on Tuesday morning, June, several new development and construction work at the Faculty of Nursing, the total cost of which amounted to about 18 million and 700 thousand pounds. The openings included the clinical examination laboratory (uski), the virtual education laboratory (skills), the five-a-side football stadium after its development, as well as the installation of two new elevators in the laboratory and administration buildings.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Jamal Badr, vice president of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Samah Abdullah, dean of the College of Nursing, Dr. Fatima Rushdi, vice dean of the college for education and Student Affairs, Dr. Nahed Shawkat, vice dean of the college for community service and Environmental Development, Dr. Ikram Ibrahim, vice dean of the college for graduate studies and research, Dr. Shehata the secretary of the college, along with several department heads, faculty and staff, engineers and supervisors of the engineering construction department at the University.
The president of the University witnessed the opening of the clinical examination laboratory (uski), which was established for 10 million pounds, to conduct clinical tests for students of final teams in various nursing specialties. The laboratory includes 6 training rooms, each of which contains a bed and a mannequin, in addition to a central control room for monitoring students ' performance, digital monitors, air conditioners, as well as advanced medical equipment for measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, to enhance the efficiency of clinical assessment and simulate a realistic work environment.
Dr. El-Minshawy also opened the virtual education laboratory (skills), which was equipped for 5 million pounds, to train students in basic nursing skills using modern models and equipment that simulate real work environments. The laboratory includes a teaching room with interactive screens, three main training rooms each with a bed and a Manikan, a trolley for spare tools, and a set of advanced medical devices and instruments. The laboratory provides students with practical training on various procedures, such as intravenous injections, different stages of childbirth, catheter installation, and laryngeal incision, which contributes to the development of their skills and qualification for the labor market.
The development works included the college's five-a-side football stadium, where the development works were carried out according to international specifications, with an area of 22×42 meters. The renovations included the installation of artificial grass, and silk nets to cover the walls and ceilings, in addition to providing it with strong lighting, for one million and 200 thousand pounds. The development of the stadium comes within the framework of supporting student activities, promoting sports participation, and providing an integrated educational environment that encourages sports practice and building a team spirit.
Dr. El-Minshawy also opened two new elevators, one in the laboratory building and the other in the administrative building, at a total cost of 2 million pounds, to improve the infrastructure and facilitate movement between different floors to serve faculty members, staff, and students, and contribute to reducing congestion inside the college buildings.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the achievements achieved at the Faculty of Nursing reflect the University's commitment to support and develop its educational structure, and its keenness to keep abreast of developments in training and evaluation systems, pointing out that the "AL-uski" and"skills" laboratories represent a distinctive quality addition and a key starting point in the development of the evaluation and clinical training system, through a realistic simulation environment that allows students to learn through experience, and acquire the skills and experiences necessary to practice nursing efficiently. The president of the university also appreciated the humanitarian mission of the College in establishing the professional values and ethics necessary to provide comprehensive health care to patients.
The president of the University concluded the opening by congratulating the family of the College of Nursing on the development projects achieved, stressing that these qualitative additions represent a real investment in the future of the college and its students, and contribute to improving the efficiency and sustainability of the infrastructure, in a way that enhances the educational and administrative environment within the college, and in line with the University's strategy to provide high-quality education, meet the needs of students, and develop university services comprehensively.
For her side, Dr. Samah Abdullah, dean of the College, stressed that the new laboratories are an unprecedented leap in the quality of practical training and clinical evaluation, and contribute to the graduation of highly qualified nursing cadres capable of meeting the requirements of the local and regional labor market. She added that the college continues to adopt the latest means and technologies in the field of nursing education, to raise the quality of academic outputs and contribute to improving the level of services provided within the college.
Assiut University announced the start of the construction of a beach playground in the student city, which is scheduled to be erected behind the building (m). This is within the framework of the University's ongoing plan to support student activities and develop the infrastructure of university cities, which contributes to improving the quality of university life and encouraging students to practice various sports activities.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy stressed that the university pays great attention to enhancing the student accommodation environment and providing the necessary means of support for sports practice, based on its belief in the importance of student activities in building the personality of the university student and developing his physical and social abilities, explaining that the establishment of the beach stadium is a distinct addition to the sports structure within the University City for female students.
He pointed out that the university continues its efforts in developing university cities and raising their efficiency, through the implementation of several projects aimed at improving the level of services provided to students, in line with the University's vision to provide an integrated and supportive university experience for the educational process.
As part of the ongoing preparations for the construction of a beach playground in Assiut University's female students ' City, Dr. Ahmed Abdulmoula, vice president for education and student affairs, conducted a field tour on Thursday morning, May 29, to inspect the site allocated for the construction of the playground behind the building (m), accompanied by Mr. Mahmoud Antar, director general of university cities, and several city officials and supervisors.
During the tour, Dr. Abdulmoula discussed with the officials of the university cities the technical requirements and specifications of the project, in preparation for the start of implementation according to a specific schedule that takes into account quality standards and speed of completion, in line with the aspirations of students and provides a supportive environment for practicing sports activities.
The vice president of the university stressed the keenness of the university administration to create a healthy and safe environment within the university cities, which contributes to improving the quality of Student Life, pointing out that sports activities are one of the main pillars in building the personality of the university student, an important supporter of Public Health, and enhancing the values of cooperation and belonging.
Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, president of Assiut University, stated on the occasion of World No Smoking Day, May 31, 2025, that this day is an important opportunity to reflect on the extent of health, environmental, social, and economic risks resulting from tobacco use, which threaten the lives of millions of people annually, pointing out that confronting this phenomenon requires real solidarity from individuals and institutions. Each party assumes its responsibility for reducing its devastating effects.
Dr. El-Minshawy stressed that Assiut University, with its leadership, professors, and students, strongly supports national and global efforts to combat smoking in all its forms, and is keen to adopt preventive health policies that protect individuals, especially the youth, who represent the mainstay of the future and the nation's hope for progress and construction.
The university president added that awareness and Prevention are key pillars of Assiut University's strategy.
