Acute exacerbations of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (AE-IPF) are associated with high morbidity and mortality. While severe exacerbations are well described, the longitudinal course following mild AE-IPF remains incompletely defined. Characterizing postexacerbation trajectories is essential for understanding subsequent disease behavior.

 نظمت كلية الطب جامعة أسيوط ندوة توعوية متخصصة حول المشروع القومي «مودة»، وذلك  تحت رعاية الأستاذ الدكتور أحمد المنشاوي، رئيس جامعة أسيوط، والأستاذ الدكتور أحمد عبد المولى نائب رئيس الجامعة لشئون التعليم والطلاب، والأستاذ الدكتور علاء عطية، عميد كلية الطب ورئيس مجلس إدارة المستشفيات الجامعية، والأستاذ الدكتور محمد عبد الرحمن، وكيل الكلية لشئون التعليم والطلاب، والأستاذة الدكتورة سهير قاسم مدير البرنامج الإلزامي لأطباء التدريب.

أكد الأستاذ الدكتور محمد عبد الرحمن، أهمية تحقيق التوازن بين الحياة الاجتماعية والحياة العملية، مشيرًا إلى أن الاستقرار الأسري ينعكس بصورة مباشرة على الأداء المهني، خاصة في المهن الإنسانية والطبية التي تتطلب قدرًا كبيرًا من الاستقرار النفسي والاجتماعي.

ومن جانبها، أوضحت الأستاذة الدكتورة هدى مخلوف، أن إدارة الكلية تحرص على تنظيم ندوات توعوية وثقيفية لا تقتصر فقط على المجالات الطبية، وإنما تمتد إلى القضايا المجتمعية والإنسانية التي تسهم في إعداد خريجين قادرين على مواجهة تحديات الحياة.

كما أشارت الأستاذة الدكتورة سهير قاسم، إلى حرص الكلية على دعم المبادرات التي تستهدف بناء وعي الشباب وتعزيز قيم المسؤولية الأسرية والمجتمعية، والعمل الدائم على دعمهم بالمعارف والمهارات الحياتية اللازمة يعزز قدرتهم على تأسيس أسر مستقرة وقادرة على مواجهة التحديات المجتمعية.

وألقى المحاضرة الأستاذ الدكتور محمد مصطفى حمد، أستاذ أصول التربية والتخطيط التربوي، حيث استعرض أهداف ومحاور المبادرة الرئاسية «مودة»، موضحًا دورها في تأهيل الشباب والفتيات المقبلين على الزواج، وإكسابهم المهارات الحياتية اللازمة لبناء أسرة مستقرة وناجحة.

ويُذكر أن مشروع «مودة» يُنفذ بالتعاون بين وزارة التضامن الاجتماعي ووزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، ويهدف إلى رفع الوعي المجتمعي لدى الشباب، والحد من معدلات الطلاق، من خلال تقديم برامج تدريبية وتوعوية متخصصة تدعم استقرار الأسرة المصرية

Research Abstract

Background: The retrograde approach improves the procedural success rate of chronic total occlusion percutaneous coronary interventions (CTO-PCIs). However, it remains unclear whether the primary retrograde approach (PRA) offers benefits in terms of procedural success and burden/resource use in challenging cases. Therefore, we compared efficacy between the primary antegrade approach (PAA) and PRA in complex CTO-PCIs.

Methods and Results: This single-center retrospective cohort study included all patients undergoing coronary CTO-PCI attempted by experienced high-volume operators between January 2016 and July 2023. The difficulty of the antegrade approach was determined using the Japanese CTO score, and the feasibility of interventional collaterals was determined using the collateral channel score. In 698 patients undergoing CTO-PCI, the overall technical and initial guidewire success rates were 91.4% and 83.8%, respectively. Of 380 patients with a Japanese CTO score≥ 3 and a collateral channel score≥ 2, PAA and PRA were performed in 161 (42.4%) and 219 (57.6%) patients, respectively. Initial guidewire success was higher with PRA than PAA (88.1% vs. 78.9%; P= 0.01), and bail-out success was higher for a retrograde than antegrade approach (91.2% vs. 56%; P= 0.0019). PRA was associated with longer guidewire crossing time, longer fluoroscopy time, and greater contrast use.

Conclusions: In patients with challenging CTO, poor antegrade conditions, and feasible interventional collaterals, PRA achieved higher initial guidewire success at the expense of higher procedural burden/resource use.

وشهدت الدورة مشاركة عدد من أعضاء هيئة التدريس ورؤساء الأقسام والمتخصصين في مجال الجودة والاعتماد، حيث حاضر فيها كل من الأستاذة الدكتورة هبة عطية مدير وحدة الجودة، والأستاذة الدكتورة نهى أبو الفتوح نائب مدير الجودة للدراسات العليا، والأستاذة الدكتورة ناهد أحمد مخلوف عضو فريق الدراسات العليا بوحدة الجودة.

جدير بالذكر، أن المحاضرات تناولت شرحًا تفصيليًا للائحة البكالوريوس والدراسات العليا وآليات تطبيقها، بما يسهم في تعزيز جودة الأداء الأكاديمي والإداري، وتقديم الدعم اللازم للطلاب وأعضاء هيئة التدريس.

The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at Assiut University Celebrates the Top New Residents in the First Assessment Exam

As part of the Faculty of Medicine's commitment to raising the academic and professional performance of resident physicians, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, University President, and Professor Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, headed by Professor Dr. Hala Saad Abdel-Ghaffar, Head of the Department, honored the physicians who achieved top ranks in the "First Assessment Exam" for the new cohort of resident physicians (juniors). This recognition was given under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hala Saad Abdel-Ghaffar, Head of the Department, and the department's training coordinators: Dr. Omnia Hussein, a fellow in the department; Dr. Moataz Emad, an assistant lecturer; and Dr. Mahmoud Sayed Farag, a resident physician, in appreciation of their academic excellence and outstanding performance in the exam.

The results showed that Dr. Mai Mohamed Elsayed came in first place, and Dr. Nourin Ahmed came in second place, while Dr. Maram Ahmed, Dr. Ahmed Essam, and Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz shared third place.

نظمت كلية الطب بجامعة أسيوط قافلة طبية شاملة إلى منطقة الحسن والحسين بمركز إسنا بمحافظة الأقصر، وذلك بهدف تقديم خدمات طبية وعلاجية مجانية للمواطنين بالتعاون مع البنك العربي الأفريقي.

جاءت القافلة تحت رعاية الأستاذ الدكتور أحمد المنشاوي رئيس جامعة أسيوط، والأستاذ الدكتور علاء عطية، عميد كلية الطب ورئيس مجلس إدارة المستشفيات الجامعية، والأستاذة الدكتورة هدى مخلوف، وكيل الكلية لشئون خدمة المجتمع وتنمية البيئة والمشرف العام على القوافل الطبية، والأستاذ الدكتور عمرو محمد عبدالمجيد، مشرف مركز القوافل الطبية، والأستاذة رانيا عثمان رئيس قطاع التنمية والمسؤولية المجتمعية بالبنك العربي الأفريقي.

تأتي القافلة في ضوء الحرص الدائم لإدارة كلية الطب على تنظيم القوافل الطبية الشاملة، وتوفير جميع إمكانياتها وكوادرها الطبية لخدمة المواطنين الأكثر احتياجًا داخل وخارج محافظة أسيوط، في إطار مساهمتها في تحسين المستوى الصحي والاجتماعي للمجتمع.

وشهدت القافلة، التي استمرت على مدار يومين، توقيع الكشف الطبي وتقديم العلاج المجاني لأكثر من 4000 حالة من أهالي منطقة الحسن والحسين، وذلك في 6 تخصصات طبية شملت: الباطنة العامة، والرمد، والأورام، وجراحة العظام، والجلدية والتناسلية، وطب الأطفال، إلى جانب صرف الأدوية وتوفير المستلزمات الطبية بالمجان.
